Now we all dream of looking like the famous athletes at the olympic games.
I cannot deny that I have given some thought to the effects of exercise on body size.
The fitness instructors tell us that if you exercise you will burn calories and get thinner.
What I have found is that if I exercise I get so darn hungry I don't give a damn anymore and eat anyway. It is a kind of hunger that will not be argued with.
The other side of this is that my mucsle tone has increased a lot - thinner firmer ankles and a groove down the middle of my back.
But my overall body size is the same or plumper as when I started.
But eating aside, if you are running from time to time, even if the body size problem continues you can still look the world in the eye and say - At least I'm doing something about it - it's a long term plan. It works for me. Hell! I've even designed a website about it.
The fact remains that it is hard to go out and exercise when you feel plump and awkward. It takes courage and there is very little encouragement out there. Here in New Zealand physical education in schools is torture for kids with no natural ability. At least is was where I was.
But it can be done. And you don't need a gold medal before you start. Just go slowly and rest up afterwards. Keep covered up and keep out of the public eye where possible. A lot of fit people started out as unfit people and can be surprisingly friendly.
