You reach into the center of the exposed clutch of eggs... only to push them aside and brush away the covering of warm sand to reveal a second clutch hidden beneath the first.
"Hmm, well done, creep. I suppose you're more intelligent than I took you for," the woman speaks sarcastically, her words cutting and dangerous, punctuated by the violent hiss of Hayerzaen, "Well, what are you waiting for, a personal invitation? Or are you actually going to choose an egg."
As you look the eggs over consideringly, the woman shifts impatiently. Wondering if you should take more time to decide just to annoy the woman further, your hand hovers over the gently rocking eggs, fingers occasionally brushing against the black and gold surfaces of different eggs. |
