| A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled 3 pots with water. In the 1st, she placed carrots, in the 2nd she placed eggs and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word. In about 20 minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what do you see?" "Carrots, eggs and coffee," she replied. She brought her closer & asked her to feel the carrots. She did & saw they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she saw the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. She tasted its rich aroma then asked. "What's the point, mother?" Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity--boiling water-- but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. But after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water. "Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?"words |

From there, you must turn onto the "Bridge of Faith," which is over troubled water. When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep straight. You are on the "King's Highway" - Heaven-bound. Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One for the Son, and One for the Holy Ghost. Then exit off onto "Grace Blvd." From there, make a Right turn on "Gospel Lane." Keep Straight and then make another Right on "Prayer Blvd." As you go on your way, Yield Not to the traffic on "Temptation Ave." Also, avoid SIN STREET because it is a DEAD END. Pass up "Envy Drive," and "Have Avenue." Also, pass "Hypocrisy Street," "Gossiping Lane," and "Backbiting Blvd" But you have to go down "Long-suffering Lane," "Persecution Blvd.,"and "Trials and Tribulations Ave." But that's alright, because VICTORY Blvd is straight ahead! |

| HOUSE CLEANING Last week I threw out worrying...it was getting old and in the way. It kept me from being me; i couldn't do things my way I threw out those inhibitions; they were just crowding me out. Made room for my New Growth, got rid of my old dreams and doubts. I threw out a book on MY PAST (didn't have time to read it anyway) Replaced it with New Goals, started reading it today. I threw out childhood toys (remember how I treasured them so?) Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too, threw out the one from long time ago. Bought in some new books too, called I CAN, I WILL and I MUST Threw out I might, I think and I ought. WOW you should've seen the dust. I ran across an OLD FRIEND, haven't seen him in a while. I believe his name is JESUS, Yes, I really like his style. He helped me to do some cleaning and added some things himself like PRAYER, HOPE FAITH, LOVE AND WEALTH, Yes I placed them right on the shelf. I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door I found it it's called PEACE. Nothing gets me down anymore. Yes, I've got my house looking nice. Looks good around the place. For things like worry and trouble there just isn't any space. It's good to do a little house cleaning, get rid of the old things on the shelf It sure makes things brighter. |

| The tongue of the wise promotes health (Prov. 12:18) It reminds us that we may use the tongue to bless and express happiness, dispel sorrow, remove despair and spread cheer OR it reminds us that we may use the tongue to curse and break hearts, destroy relationships, create strife and set families, friends or nations at war. The tongue is NOT in control but the person behind is. How are you using your tongue today.....hopefully for God's glory. |

| Dear Friend, I saw you yesterday as you began your daily chores. You awoke without kneeling to pray. As a matter of fact, you didn't even bless your meals or pray before going to bed last night. You are so ungrateful and I like that about you. I cannot tell you how glad I am that you have not changed your way of living. You are mine. Remember, you and I have been going steady for years, and I still don't love you, as a matter of fact, I HATE YOU, because I HATE God. I am only using you to get even with God. He kicked me out of heaven, you know, and I'm going to use you to get even with God to pay Him back. I've got nothing more to lose. You see, God LOVES you and He has a great and divine plan for you. But you have yielded your life to me, and I'm going to make your life a living HELL. That way, we'll be together twice. This will really hurt God. HAHAHAHA! Thanks to you, I'm really showing Him who is boss in your life with all of the good times we've had and are still having together. You think He doesn't know that we have been watching dirty movies, cursing, stealing, smoking, arguing, drinking, lying, being hypocritical, fornicating, overeating, telling dirty jokes, being judgmental, complaining, back stabbing our so-called friends, disrespecting our parents, especially those in leadership positions, and we have no respect for the Church or the Pastor. Surely you don't want to give all this up, let's BURN together forever. I've got HOT plans for us. This is just a Letter of Appreciation, for letting me use you for most of your pathetic life. You are so gullible. When I tempt you to sin, you give in…HAHAHAHA, you are a joke and make me so happy. Sin is beginning to take its toll on you. You look 20 years older, and now I need some new fresh blood. So, I need you to…. Go ahead and teach your children and everyone else's children how to watch dirty movies, curse, steal, smoke, argue, drink, lie, be a hypocrite, fornicate, overeat, tell dirty jokes, be judgmental, complain, back stab their friends, disrespect their parents, especially those in leadership positions, and not to respect the Church or the Pastor. Whatever you do in front of them, they will do it too, Kids are like that. Well, child, I have to let you go for now. I'll be back in a couple of seconds to tempt you again. If you were wise, you would run somewhere, confess your sins, repent and live for ….., well you know God, with that little bit of life you have left. It's not my nature to warn anyone, but to be your age and still sinning, it's becoming a bit Ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I still HATE you. It's just that you make a better child for that JC person. Did I say that? Time is running out. See you later.
