Hum I was at a wedding ceromony the other day. Where they were celebrating 25 years of marriage. I thought to myself what an accomplishment! In a world where even Christians don't care to make it last and learn to forgive and reconcile their differences and problems. It saids something when 2 people are willing to make it work and love each other despite their troubles, offences and failures.. Granted some like myself have done great damage and harm to others so its not so easy to forgive however scripture does say or command us " to be tender hearted, kind, loving , forgiving one another and be ye reconciled" it also saids " for it is God that works in us to both to will and to do of his good pleasure" click here to READ MORE: 8/5/2005 Wow I was on a long vacation u might say. Anyway its late here in Cali but thought I'd better write something to my loyal readers; So lifes been a bit of a struggle lately. Guess u might say its the dry empty season of life time again. Yes we all go thru those times when all seems so empty and bleak, boring and futile. But you see life has its ups and downs. Troubles come and go. And in every situation and circumstance. Can come good or bad. You see my friends its not what happens to us or what pains us that counts, rather its what we do in each circumstance that counts. We can become BETTER or BITTER. Its our choice! In other words its not what happens to us but in us and thru us that really matters. So you see no matter where u find urself in life or what has happen to you. Its ur greatest opportunity to shine ur brightest! The next time u find urself feeling angry or discouraged. feeling bad about certain peeps, noticing things bad, or out of place with folks, remind urself hey I got to take my eyes off people. cuz no matter who the person is people will always let us down. We normally tend to see the bad in others, when what we ought to do is look for Jesus in others and if not in them then in us. Look for good in others and u will find it, look for bad in others and u will find it also. Cuz we all tend to have a bit of good and bad in all of us. Its just about who brings out the what in us! THINK bout it! and God bless! 7/25/ You know I was thinking today as I was reading about Joseph and his brothers who sold him into slavery, In the story they end up lying to their own brother about his demise? After they knew in their hearts that they had sold him a long time ago and he was alive somewhere living as a slave. Yet they actually said he was dead and no longer was? Almost as if they really believed it. Or perhaps did you know that you can tell a lie and then live a lie for so long that you soon begin to believe it yourself. Yes some folks can live in denial for so long, live in deception and blindness. live in sin and rebellion, live in hatred and bitterness. Live in drugs and drinking, live in self pity and remorse, That you soon begin to believe what you know is a lie? You deny truth, you regect mercy, you accept ur situation and circumstances WITHOUT ANY EFFORT AT CHANGE, COMPROMISE OR CONCILLIATION. You toss out love and ur left feeling hopeless. But there is hope if we confess. If we forgive OURSLEVES AND OTHERS, if we learn to live in truth and sincerity. Ah but some will say what is truth? Well thats another story, maybe next time? but for now let me say this for those seeking truth. TRUTH is Jesus loves u more than u can imagine! TRUTH is he came that we might have abundant life. Have healing and hope, have a future... 'for whosoever cometh to him he will in now way cast out" 4/26/2005 I was out jogging this morning and it happened again? You would think I would have learned the first time around. Well you see while I was jogging I saw these certain characters out buying their morning fix of herion. It was so obvious, you see I been around those kind of folks before so I know what they look and act like. Anyway as I looked at them I thought to myself how pathetic! why I would never.. I mean they wore tore up from the floor up, dirty, sloppy, scrappy looken, they had low life written all over them. Dope fends for sure, I kept thinking they ain't going anywhere in life how sad, but as for me why I'm formulating my own financial future and planning to do some investment work in the stock market. Things are looking good. But that's when it hit me. Who do I think I am? Yeah I thought to myself look at them they look like hell, they look like a stench in society. It made me realize Im no better, ah they may have a bit more of a struggle in life then do I. Maybe in me and in the eyes of others they don't have much worth or value? be them thuggs, dope fends, alcoholics, prostitutes or the like, but thats where I got it all wrong. You know what it made me realize? Here I am thinking what a stench they look like just cuz they have a problem and need help. But yet when I sin or make mistakes and I think to myself ahh atleast its not that big or major like them. who am I fooling? its still wrong even if its just a bad thought I shouldnt have? sin is sin, wrong is wrong, bad is bad, you know I wonder if when I do wrong or when I think I'm better than someone like them. I wonder If I'm not a stench in Gods eyes and nostrils? Maybe I look just as bad to him as they do to me? The point is what right do I have to look down on others. no matter their condition, life is not about comparing ourselves among one another. but helping, loving, understanding and caring for one another. God forgive me ! 4/18/2005 You know I was out jogging early morning the other day before going to work. And I saw something that made me think and realize how blessed I really am despite my present circumstances, things could always be worse. What caught my attention were 2 things I saw. One was a young man buying a beer so early in the morning, what a way to start a day? How terrible it must be to be under that kind of influence and BONDAGE! The other incident was what really made me think. It was a man and his woman pushing a grocery cart full of cans. It told me a couple things, for one they were in need? and two they were desperate? Now that leads me to the main thought or reflection that I got from seeing and observing them. You see desperation will drive you to do things that you would not normally do for lack of pride. You see desperation will overide pride. As I saw them I thought to myself why I would never do that' ah buts thats pride for you. (NEVER MIND THAT I PRESENTLY HAVE A VERY GOOD PAYING JOB AND GOD HAS PROSPERED ME) So I thought to myself now George you know better than that. You need to learn to humble yourself, how dare you think your above that kind of willingness to do what ever it takes to make a living. I really felt like the Lord was talking to me, I thought to myself again ok I'll humble myself and do that. But then the Lord put me in check, you see there is a difference between humiliation and humlity? To humiliate myself is not the same as humbling myself. Notice to humiliate yourself is to draw attention away from others and to one self in the sight of others. But to humble oneself is to draw attention away from yourself and toward others. The lesson here is to not seek our own good but seek for the good of others. To think not of or for ourselves but towards others. In other words live your life that others are blessed thru it..AND WITH THAT MAY THE GOOD LORD BLESS YOU TODAY! 4/3/2005 Well with all the Hooplah going on about Terry. I guess I'll jump in with my 2 cents. For all the rhetoric and hypocrisy that has been exhibited by those who claim to have genuine concern for her condition. And for those who claim she has the right to die and with dignity at that? I'll say the nerve of some folks. Last time I checked It was God who gave life and is the only one with the right to take life. Either some peeps are blantantly arrogant or blantantly stupid ( possibly both) for lack of a more definitive word. What assinine thinking. Since when do we value life by the condition of ones mental faculties or ones physical capabilities. It is God who gave each individual worth by virtue of creation and by what He did on the cross. Lets look at the facts here, for one we have a husband who possibly is guilty for abusing his wife and putting her in that condition, according to some credible witnesses who stated for the record but this evidence was left out of the proceedings? Then there is the fact that her husband who happens to be living in an adulterous relationship with another woman. Yet he is given authority and legal power over what happens toTerry. Then there is the protection given her muderers? If any of us were threatened by someone we surely would not be given a police officer to protect us daily yet one was provided to her husband and lawyer. And one kept in the hospital were Terry was just to make sure no one was able to come to her aid to prolong her life or assist and make her more comfortable? The state was willing to pay to make sure no one would help her or feed her, willing to pay to make sure she was murdered without any obstuction? Yet we will not protect those whose lives have been threatened but yet we pay and offer protection to make sure one dies or is killed? Only in todays perverted and upside down thinking society would this be allowed. Then there is the Govt. which not only is enforcing her murder, but paying to make sure she is not helped in any way by outsiders. May God not have mercy on this nation is my prayer! Its a sad day when someone so defenseless as Terry has no one to come to her rescue. Be the President or the Govorner. Shame on them, and the bias media which has distorted and hidden the true facts in this case. No one deserves what she is being put through. I fear we as a nation have turned the corner on a new age, we have slidden beyond the realm of reason, and out of the grasp of morality and headed for a day of judgment! With each passing day we slip further into chaos and darkness, we have tried to remove God from our lives and one day and God forbid that it happens. God may just as well decide to remove himself from our lives.. THINK ABOUT IT! Your life counts no matter where you are or what condition you are in.... 3/24/ The other day I was filling out a form and a question that was on the form was who are your heros? I THOUGHT TO MYSELF, I don't get into that people worship or idolizing stuff. I don't worship no superstars, sportstars, rock musicians, or any of those Hollyweird movie star porn people. But come to think of it I guess I do have ONE hero! Thats Jesus Christ the Lord of glory! Now that was some man, some God, some love, awesome in his mercy, gracious in his grace, and all powerful in his abilities. Now thats someone to look up to and emulate. What character, what fidelity, what humility, ah but those are words we hmans don't like or relish, hum... You know I don't take to idolizing human people but ill tell you of some human heros! The people in whom lifes troubles and woes, despair and degection have hurt and broken them. The one's whom have been brought down by lifes circumstances and no one came runing to help them yet they rose up, life dealt them an unfair hand, people misuse and abuse them yet they come back, they still smile, still love, still care, still live.. Now that my friend is a HERO! If thats you my friend my hat goes off to you, I cheer you on! get up, stand up, stick your head up, your chin out, keep on keeping on. fight the good fight of faith! Hope is on its way! Your an overcomer.. Just me your friend... 3/12/ The other day I was at work and as I was trying to help the students with their subject study. There was one child who seem to experience difficulty in getting involved and trying. He just refused to open up and try to learn, I found myself getting frustrated and bothered. I began to think to myself, how can I help him? How can I not get upset with him and try to understand instead. My heart went out to him and others, as I imagined how many others are their like him who find learning difficult. Who will find few if any teachers who will be patient and willing to work with them. It made me wonder am I like that with my heavenly father when he wants to help me? with my parents, my friends, my pastor, my elders? Do I freeze up and shut down and refuse to try because Im frustrated? Do I refuse to listen? refuse to be teachable? Am I like that child, are you? Someone wants to help you, to guide you, correct you, teach you, counsel you? Do I think I know it all, am I to embarrased to try? do you know anyone like that? Maybe like that child all they really need is some love and patience. Someone who cares! 3/2/05 Ouch..... Today I just got a couple teeth pulled. Actually it wasn't to bad but it did hurt alil bit though. I was just sitting here thinking oh how I feel so much better now that this bothersome tooth has been removed. I can smile again, talk again, eat again. You know having this tooth removed made me think... There are times when we may need to have something removed from us, from our body, from our circle of influence, from our friendships, our family etc. And some times that removal will cost us some pain but in the end it is for our own good. Sometimes we need to be willing to have certain things extracted from us, sometimes we hold on to things that are destructive and demeaning to us. Things that hurt not only us but also hurt the people that love us. Things that fester and can cause disease and sickness. (alchoholism, bitterness, unforgiveness, drug use, unhealthy friendships, cynicism, worry, doubt, stress and criticism etc) No it may not be a physical sickness or disease? perhaps its an emotional or mental sickness or instability. Yes it hurts to let go and give up sometimes, but some of us need to get rid of certain attitudes, certain vices, certain ways, maybe even certain people in our lives. Oh it will hurt but you will heal! Then again sometimes its not that we need to remove a certain person or object from our lives and relationships? But perhaps we need to remove our own misconceptions and selfish expectations. Remove our unwillingness to compromise and work things or problems out rather than run and hide from them. Sometimes we need to stick things out and hold on to certain things. A tooth removed at the wrong time can actually do more harm than good. Wisdom is needed here hence wise friends and Godly counsel is critical to making right choices. Just like you don't go to any old dentist you chose one who is qualified. Likewise our choices of whom to confide in are important. Not every friend we have is qualified to give wise counsel especailly biblical counsel. My point is this we need to be careful what we chose to have extracted or removed...Else you pay the piper and pay the pain.. 2/21/05 Well its another wonderful fabulous day... Woke up this morning feeling so blessed! Thinking I look forward to going to work today. Look forward to those children, their so sweet and innocent, so fragile yet trusting, so earger to learn and to try things. They make life fun and enjoyable. Which brings me to my thought or point of the day. Children? ever wondered about them? ever wondered why they are so trusting, so forgiving, so loving? So enjoyable to be around! Hum... makes me think of a scripture verse. "suffer the little children to come unto me, for such is the kigdom of God" For unless you come unto me as one of them you shall in no way enter the kingdom of heaven. Anybody ever wondered what Jesus meant by that? What was it about the children that got his attention, what was it about them that he wanted us to emulate? Hum... well have you ever noticed how they are so quick to trust in their FATHER? In what ever thier father saids. Now there is a profound lesson or thought here. Notice how children never try to figure every detail out, never ALWAYS try to fix everything thereselves when they can go to the FATHER. They seem to have an eager attitude to learn, hint hint, hint. They are always willing to humble themselves. And they tend to forgive and forget offenses easily. Wow and who said children didn't know anything? Well for one they know how to get the favor of God and their FATHER. For them if Daddy saids it's going to be alright, then it's going to be alright as far as their concerned. And you know what else about them, they just love the presence and attention of their Father! He's their hero. Now that leads me to and reminds me of.. our FATHER Jesus! didn't he say "Come unto me ..cast all your cares upon me for I care for you" When you pray, forgive.." for I know the plans I have for you.. thoughts for good and not for evil" So you see my friend we must become child like in faith and attitude. Hey if lifes got you down and burdened, broken and battered. It's simple just trust! Just call on Daddy! Just relax! Let go and let God! So see ya, take care, be happy! He's still in control. 2/14/05 Well a big Happy Valentines day to you all! Hum...Even if some of you like me have no sweetheart... As I woke this morning I thought to myself, what a wonderful day. Today is the first day on my new job and I'm looking forward to it. Ah that gives me an idea or a thought, makes me think of a certain word Again.. That word called anticipation, and thats what life is like sometimes. We need to learn to anticipate life, things, blessings, positive events. You see if we wake up and think oh it looks terrible outside, it feels cold and damp or hot and icky. And we tend think to ourselves ughhh what a day, or we say to ourselves and others 'oh what a bad day this is going to be ' I'm going to have another bad week... Then we have set the atttitude for our day, and ATTITUDE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE now that leads us to another word. ATTITUDE did you know that our outlook will determine our outcome... What I'm trying to say is that we need to have a more posotive and constructive outlook in life. And the daily situations we encounter. Get use to not letting the physical circumstances and the outward appearance of things effect you negatively. Learn to look beyond ur opposition, beyond ur circumstances, look over and beyond the mountain of troubles that bewail you. See your answer, see ur hope, see ur victory, see ur solution..See your God! See your God; is a big God. God is bigger than your trial, bigger than ur problem, bigger than your greatest enemy. He is the mighty God in Jesus Christ. And he cares for you" So from God and Me. Have a wonderful beautiful and fabulous Valentines day! Smile Jesus loves you! So wake up happy@Jesus place... And by the way why not send him a Valentine or two.. He sent you one this morning when he sent you the sunrise and the birds to sing you a song. But the question is where you even listening or to busy complaining? Some scripture food for thought: " A merry heart doeth good like a medicine" JUST ME SOME1CARES 2/5/05 Hum.... the other day I woke up with a craving for some hot cakes, hash browns, bacon and eggs over easy, and a big big glass of Orange juice. ummmmm And you know what I have found out that If I anticipate, or crave something long enough, I tend to enjoy it more. And life is like that, sometimes we just have to learn to anticipate, to look forward to and long for. Yes sometimes life seems so bland, so dull, so boring, so empty, I wonder if perhaps we can and do choose how life looks to us. How life treats us, maybe we at times even mold our sour perspective of life by our attitudes and outlook? We expereince ( hence taste) the savior of life and we pre judge our situtaion and circumstances. Sure life hands us a bad day every now and then. Matter a fact sometimes it pours, yeah it thunders down upon us; all hell and hail. But many times our situation and outcome is simply a matter of our lifestyle and way of thinking... Its about how we taste things and experience them. Then digest them into our world outlook. Maybe it would benifit us more if we were to start to each day. When we wake up with an anticipation of hey this days going to be good, matter a fact it's going to be a blast! Come Hell or high water I'm going to enjoy life. I'm going to see and look for the good, and the oportunity in each and every situation. Come on why not try it. Step out your door today, breathe the fresh air, let the sun shine on you, smile at someone today it may just start a trend or set someones day. Laugh out loud, Hug someone today, hug a tree if u have to. Come on taste the goodness of life. Jesus said " taste and see that the Lord is good.." So come on now go to the zoo, take a walk in the park, go hiking, have a bar-b-q, fire up that fireplace, throw in a log or two and grab a good book and read on..
