Another Tribal Council, and another bullet dodged. As Andrew sat in the dim morning light of day sixteen, he realized how lucky he was to be here. It was an odd feeling, because he knew that Peuco had supplied most, if not all of the votes that he got, and the fact that Auca Pan's votes kept him in, was a difficult pill to swallow. After Tribal council, he had approached Dave telling him that he knew he had voted for him. "Andi has been more helpful, right?" Andrew asked, looking for an explanation. "I didn't say that. You are a great person, and it was a tough decision," Dave admitted. Regardless of the reason, Andrew's feelings were slightly hurt, but he was still in the game, and he had to keep working to survive. Nichole asked Dave the morning after Tribal Council how Andrew was feeling, a bit nervous, that the votes from Peuco could push him to Auca Pan. "Well, he's definitely upset; not happy at all," Dave admitted. Nichole frowned, knowing that at this point there wasn't anything they could do about it, and the sting from Andi, a good friend leaving last night was still a fresh, surprising wound. She was close with Andi, and hoped she didn't think that she betrayed her trust. She had voted for Andrew last night, but was worried Andi thought she had voted for her. She hadn't given her immunity, but she realized she had her own reasons for that. Even though Tribal Council was behind them, it seemed important for Dave to fish and work with Josie to see where she stood with Auca Pan. "Marie told me about some drama at your camp," he began quietly, while working with the water. "Yeah, John and I got rather heated. He was eventually tossed out for breaking the verbal abuse rule," she admitted. "Any other drama you know about?" he asked, "Like between Marie and Chad?" "I don't think they do, actually," she responded. "Oh? That's weird. That was the reason I asked you about it, actually," Dave said. With no answers, Dave walked away from the situation, still uneasy about the Chad and Marie arguments that Adam had apparently found out about. Dave was trying to figure out the votes from the previous night, and he had told Lisa that the vote would be up to her if it did come down to Andrew and Andi. And since it had, and Andi went, he assumed she voted for her. When he attempted to talk to her about it, she avoided the topic, and began to talk about the music that she missed. When he insisted on talking about it, she got up, very uneasy about talking about that subject. Dave was able to get the truth out of Travis and Marie about voting Andi, so he was pretty sure after the uneasy chat with Lisa that she had sent Andi home. While it didn't really matter, now that she was gone, and they needed to stick together to take Auca Pan head-on, it was nice to know. The main topic in the six former Peuco members was the possibility that Chad would team up with them. Adam had informed the rest of Peuco that he and Marie had a bit of unsettled conflict, and Chad could be interested in voting someone out. Andrew thought that having Chad would make up for the uncertainty of Lisa, making a solid five. The solid five idea was also thrown for a loop when a rumor about Adam being unhappy with Dave, Andrew, Nichole and Luke arose. Whatever the case, there was a serious feeling of necessity to make something strong, soon. Andi leaving left Luke extremely unsettled, as one of his admitted puppets left the game. With Nichole now safely his strongest ally, they were talking more and more about strategy as the game progressed. "I think we may be screwed Nichole," Luke said solemnly over a small serving of rice. "Well, we have options," she began, "Like maybe we could take Marie to the final four?" "I suppose we could," Luke said. "I trust her, already. She's contacted me a few times about getting David out of the game." "Well, I don't know about trusting her, but as far as the Auca Pan people go, I would go with her," she responded. "Bah," Luke moaned, "I want to vote everyone off right now. But you, Dave and myself." "I don't want anyone else either, but we have to have enough to have a secure voting block," she admitted. "Well, no ----," Luke said angrily. "We have Andrew, and either Adam or Lisa. But with that last vote, I think Lisa turned on us." "And I'm beginning to change my mind about Adam, because he was so eager to bring Chad into our alliance," Luke continued. "Then, Chad goes and votes Andi, apparently misunderstanding the plan. I mean, I know Chad has a grudge against Marie, so I think we definitely have that vote." "So, it's Chad, Dave, Adam, you and myself. Who else?" Nichole asked. "Andrew, but, we have to baby him," Luke said. Meanwhile, Auca Pan was feeling slightly better with one Peuco out, but still recognized a six-to-five majority and knew they had to continue to work against it. Josie and Marie, friends from Auca Pan, were still close in Melipal. Marie was feeling the need to discuss something that had come up with Josie. "Hi Josie," Marie started. "Hi." "Can I tell you something," Marie began immediately, "that you swear not to tell anyone?" "Of course," Josie promised. "Ok. I'm not going to say who, but two people told them that John and I were in a deadlock tie at the fourth tribal council," Marie confessed. "I mean, I played along. In fact, Luke a few minutes ago told me that me, you and Travis against John, Chad and Jacob was such an odd split, that he didn't see it coming." "Well, to be honest, Marie," Josie began nervously, "Luke has been working me. He said, 'If I offered you final four, would you take it?'. He said, with one vote that they would have majority again, and they would take me to the final three. I mean, I told him that it wasn't fair that the deal was to only one Auca Pan, and he was like, 'that isn't your choice.' So I would be wary what you get from Luke. But on the good side, I think he thinks I'm voting with them." "That's a good thing," Marie said rubbing her chin. "We could totally burn him that way. And coming from you, I doubt he would think you were wheeling and dealing, and not being completely sincere." In a confessional later, Marie talked about her feelings since the Andi vote. "It was a surprise to see Andi go. Someone from Peuco obviously came with us for the vote. Who? Maybe Luke, but I am not really sure about that. We had our first conversation this morning and he said something about a tie vote when John left, or something like that. I had no idea what he was talking about, so I played along, and advised Josie to do the same. So now that there are three of us who lied to Peuco, we can't really make an alliance with them now. Good move? Josie told me about a conversation they had with Luke talking about taking her to the final four, and she mentioned me. So could it be Josie, Luke, Adam, and myself in the final four? It's possible. But I have that thing with Jacob, and I don't want to backstab him, since he's so nice, and apparently likes me a lot. I also have the urge to ask Travis for an alliance, but here again, I don't want to backstab Jacob and lose his friendship. There is so much that I need to talk about with people, so many things to clarify. In the end, I hope Andrew will come with Auca Pan, but I don't see that happening." Chad rubbed his chin, as he found himself in the middle of a talk with Peuco. They were talking about strategy, and eagerly included him. He felt like a spy and was intent on carrying out a role that included him betraying Auca Pan. After the conversation, he went straight to Auca Pan, explaining that Josie's final four offer, was also offered to him by Luke. "They want you gone, Marie," he said menacingly. "I think the best thing to do would be for someone to win immunity, probably the person with the most past votes, so we could have a good chance in a deadlock tie." After divulging information, Chad put up the persona once again and went to Nichole for more dirt. "So," he began immediately, "Who did you guys vote out before?" "Valerie," she said wearily. "Unanimous?" he asked bluntly. "Er... no. Two people voted for Andrew," she admitted. "Since you want too much dirt on my tribe," she continued, "How about you return the favor?" She smiled a bit, and he remained quiet. |

When the Survivors were called for the reward challenge, they went in pairs that were soon to be shuffled. They met Stephanie on the beach where she was holding a clipboard. "Hello, guys. As you know, Dave and Marie had the strongest challenge average. However, we averaged everyone's. And we are going to pair you to ensure equality. The highest and lowest, etc, will be paired. Here are your new pairs... David and Chad Nichole and Lisa Marie and Andrew Luke and Josie Travis and Adam... Leaving Jacob as the middle man, and the lone player. For reward today, your scores will be averaged. We have a bit of a puzzle for you to solve. You must move the blocks around trying to get the large red one out of the middle. The average time of the teams will determine the winner." After all people went, Chad and David ended up with the best time, and won a movie showing with popcorn and candy. At the movie, the talk was limited to the movie until David began talking about the rules of this round. "If we win Chad, we only get one vote. Don't you think we should talk about who that is?" Dave initiated. "We only get one vote, right?" Chad questioned. "Yep. I would like to vote Josie, Travis, or Marie, since they are such strong players. What about you?" Dave asked hesitantly. "That's fine with me. Are you in Luke's alliance?" Chad asked bluntly. "Yes, I hope so," Dave responded. "Well, Luke said he wanted it to be Adam, himself, Nichole and he wanted Andi, but since she was voted out, that I would replace her," Chad repeated. "Well, the game has a lot of twists, and right now, I trust Luke and think I am safe with him," Dave responded. "Well, if that is the case," Chad began, "Where do I stand, final seven?" "I don't know. Luke trusts you, he has told me that. I don't think you would go that early," David explained. "I know this is a trusting issue, and I don't mind helping your tribe, and I do personally like your tribe better. I just don't want to help you guys and then get nothing in return," Chad admitted. "Well, what would you want" David asked. "Let's just say, when we get rid of the other members of Auca Pan, and we are at the final seven, I don't want to be voted out because I was on Auca Pan, espeically when some of the people on your tribe are riding the fence to get some people out," Chad said. "Well, that makes sense, and I understand. This whole situation makes this immunity all the more important," Dave said, as the movie came to a close. Back at camp, Lisa and Nichole were talking about Andi, and Lisa admitted to her that she had voted for her, but had told her it was random. "Well, I'm always here, if you don't want things to be random," Nichole assured. "Also, the tribe has been talking about the next vote, and we want Marie to go, since she's such a threat. Are you ok with that?" Nichole asked. "I agree, but Jacob is also strong competition, so let's not ignore him," Lisa said. "Ok then, Marie first and Jacob second. So hopefully we can take both of them out in the next two tribal councils," she said, hopefully. After David and Chad came back, the tribe settled in for a normal night, people chatting quietly, some going off alone, to talk strategy. Travis has some pent-up frustration over David, and had to talk to a camera to get the feelings out. "Dave, you are a nice guy and all, but you like to talk, and talk, and talk, and you do this to all of the tribe members, and I'm sure you have good intentions but please! It's much too much and it is driving me insane. On the other side of things, looks like I'm in an "alliance" which was formed about 2 episodes ago. Things are starting to heat up, and I'm attempting to add some subtle manipulation in order to swing things my way. That being said, I'm a bit worried that my head will be on the chopping block come TCs down the line. I'm guessing that a tribal split will be occurring fairly soon." The night quieted to only the normal insects buzzing or clicking, or making some odd nasty sound. The crowded eleven person tribe huddled together, at least having enough people for body heat to keep them all comfortable. When Marie was the first up, she quickly roused Chad, Josie, Jacob, and Travis and the five of them walked to the lake, to talk about the game. "I'm really insistant on this, because they really trust me, and I'm getting really good dirt from them," Chad began. "We have to have Jacob win this immunity, and vote Dave out. Then we can go after Andrew." "Who are they targeting, though?" Marie asked. "You," all three of them except Jacob said. "I was afraid that they would want me gone. But why? For some reason, they think I was orchestrating votes, I think. Dave asked me before if I was an immunity threat, and he apparently thought I was; what should I tell him, 'yes, Dave, I am, vote me out??'," Marie ranted. "They are scared of you, Marie," Travis explained. "They were pushing me to vote Travis, Jacob, or Chad, if I was the one to win immunity with Lisa. He said "we have the majority" because Lisa defected when she voted for Andi. I didn't buy it, but it is something to think about," Josie added. "Not to mention, they are so sure they know about this Tribal Council where youand John were deadlocked, Marie. Chad, you are doing a good job playing with these guys heads." "I am trying. Luke, Dave and Nichole have all asked me stuff and Luke is definitely riding fences to get both sides out. I am going to try my damndest to screw Dave up, in the challenge," Chad responded. |
