Power Knight Obo-jon-Potatoe, pirate, pilot, cocksure braggart and mercanary. A former pilot of the Establishment Obo-jon (later known as Obo-jon Potatoe), came to the spotlight when he lead a suicide attack of a Space Station with the Establishment fighters. They survived the attack and destroyed the station. Highly reguarded among the high ranks of the Establishment, Obo-jon was forced to leave after disobeying orders, and only survived on the fact he disappeared forever. Disappeared he did.
Obo became a pirate for the crime lord Zuckuss Rebo flying missions and charters for the crime lord. Until one day where he encountered an Establishment command ship and jettisoned his cargo in order to not be caught. This mistake brought down the wrath of his employer. He was unable to pay him back so Zuckuss placed a bounty so large on his head that every bounty hunter including Bib McCool were after him.
It is because of this chase he encounters Bruce Skychannel and his Haako apprentice Thomas J. Nightmare. Obo-jon accepts their offer for him to fly them to Duodena the home of a secret Rebel base for 10 000 Tarkins.
Obo-jon and his first mate Spurr decide to stay on the planet until a solution presents itself to them. It is then when they decide to help Skychannel and Nightmare rescue Princess Lilo, from the clutches of Large Banker.
After the successful return of Lilo, Obo is offered a commission to be a captain in the Confederates Fleet. Obo eventually accepts the commission.
It is with the Confederacy Obo-jon picks up the nickname Potatoe, due to the fact he loves Potatoes especially the Potatoe Pie.
Obo flies the YT-1900 Centaur Eagle which he won in what he would say the best game of poker he has every played. His reputation as gunfighter matches his renown as a pilot.
Obo's sidekick is Spurr a short hairless Kirov who speaks English. Spurr is loyal to Obo even if Obo blames everything on him. Spurr hopes for the day where he saves Obo's life and returns the life debt he has with Obo after he was saved from the assassin droid IG-33. Spurr is good friends with Skychannel and he and Obo help them in the fight for freedom.
Obo carries a similar blaster to the one which Nightmare carries, but with modifications of his own. Obo and Spurr have spent many hours working on the Eagle.
Reckless and foolhardly, he is also courageous and daring, a match for anyone. Along with his fast draw he can render a man unconscious with his Power Stare.
He was raised by gypsies, in which he learned his tricks and self-reliance from his adoptive community.
Obo-jon-Potatoe becomes one of the Rebels most inspirational leaders.
His relationship with Princess Lilo grows and the two marry shortly after Nightmare's death. They have one child named TJ, but things aren't all too well between the too.
After the death of Nightmare, Obo turns to alcoholism. It takes him a long time to get over the kid's death and he finally commits suicide in the later years of his life. |
