October 2005 - After a long absence from recording - Synthology is back with a brand new re-recording and remastering of the original release Between Day and Night. This will be a 24 bit recording with bonus material and soaked with mellotron (which was absent from the first release). This release will be available in January through Fossil Records for $10 US (or directly from Synthology just shoot an email) . The recording will replace the original release as a new and improved version (my what technology upgrades can do for a recording!). July 2003 - I have updated the studio to 24-bit digital and will record all the material for the new album in this format. This means the release of the album will be pushed into 2004 . I think that the new Synthology material will be the best yet and certainly the best sounding so please stay tuned. Jan 2003 - Well work on the new album has slowed significantly over the last couple of months. A change of direction and some fresh ideas were needed. So it appears that the release date for the album will be pushed into late 2003. We want this to be the best Synthology album to date and it will require that much more work. John will be doing some of the singing on the album so there will be both male and female vocals. Stay tuned for further developments. Sept 2002 - There are already three compositions recorded for the new album. The last piece will be a 15 minute closer and is as of yet untitled. We will be posting an instrumental called "Desert Moon" on our MP3.com page over the coming weeks. so stay tuned. March 2002 - Work has slowly begun on Synthology's third album to be tentatively titled A Requiem for Twilight Please stay tuned for further developments over the coming months. Feb 2002 - The second album is finished and released....phewww!! Now we take a break while sending out for review. Get your copy through Fossil Records. Reviews will be posted as they come in. Sept 2001 - We finally got the latest issue of Progression and we're very happy with the review. Check out the text in the review section of this site. The second album is finished minus guitar and vocals. Look for some preliminary mp3 files on our mp3.com page in the coming weeks. July 2001 - It looks like the release of the latest issue of Progression has been delayed until August (John Collinge was apparently ill). Work continues on the second cd and the last song is being written (the 10 minute album closer and title track). Tentative release date will be the middle of December 2001. June 2001 - The debut cd will be reviewed in the June issue of progression magazine which is one of the premier publications in the prog field. When available it will be posted in the reviews page of this site. May 2001 - The debut cd was reviewed on the Dutch Progressive Rock Pages site. You can check it here. It was also reviewed by Artur Chachlowski in the May issue of Metal Hammer magazine. This is a Polish publication which specializes in Metal but has a progressive section as well. You can read the review in the Review section of this site. April 2001 - The debut cd recently got some radio play in Krakow, Poland on station radio alfa (www.radioalfa.pl). The show took place on April 11th, 2001 between 7 and 9 pm London time. Radio Alfa will be playing us in the future and you can tune in using real audio from their site. Work continues on the new cd and half of the tracks have already been written. Recording work in the studio will proceed over the coming months. March 2001 - The cd received some airplay on station CFLX 95.5 out of Sherbroke, Quebec, Canada. Approx 20 minutes of the cd was played as the "Discovery of the Week" Feb 2001 - A copy of "Between and Night" was favorably reviewed by the Classic Rock Society.
