| Seiryuu: The Dragon ~God of the East~ |
| Seiryuu; the blue dragon. The ruler of the East (Kutou was the Eastern-most country in Fushigi Yuugi), he is associated with spring, wood, the planet Jupiter, and the body parts liver and gall. It is also known as the green dragon. One of the oldest symbolic animals, it is usually very stylized and used for decor on the clothing and possessions of the imperial family and nobilty. The quarter of the sky which the Seiryuu lives is also known as the Palace of the Green Dragon, and it is also said that the Seiryuu constellation is most commonly seen in the rainy season. |
