With more and more crime in America, several laws application agency decided to create SWAT team, or at least they have access to them. A lot of administrators call these teams, Special Search Teams, Special Execution Teams and so on.

SWAT teams function as specialized or very qualified units, and resolve critic incident or provide high risk protection. A false idea that the public has about SWAT, is the use of their force to resolve barricaded suspect situation’s or hostage incidences. SWAT teams avoid to use force, when it’s possible they resolve critical situations by negotiation.

You will find on this site some general information about SWAT teams, like their origin, their composition or the more often used weapons.
