Newsletter
Dear Team couples,

Do you know that it is an obligation that we attend the Annual Retreat organized by the Movement?  It would help us in our marriage by keeping us committed to our spouses and family.  It is also a great opportunity for us to come together as a group.

When we don’t attend activities planned we tend to fall away from the Organization.

When we don’t do our endeavours (e.g. Praying as a couple, as an individual, as a family, reading the scripture, having a sit down as a couple once a month and rule of life) we will always find we are not getting anything from the Movement.

When we don’t contribute to the Movement it cripples the leaders because in order to inform all members of upcoming events, phone call have to be made, newsletters have to be printed and everything that has to be done to keep the Movement functioning the Organization need you monetary support.

When we don’t read the Newsletter we will not be aware of a lot of vital information.

It is our duty as Team Couples to do al that is required of so as to receive as that is available from Teams of Our Lady and help in the growth and existence in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Pope recognizes our Movement as a way of keeping families together.  So let us try our best from now on to make this Movement part of our life by being more committed.

The first thing that came to mind was “Parang in June?”.  Who would have expected the response we received though.

Teams Tobago extended an invitation to Team 20 and its parang group to provide musical entertainment  for the St. Joseph Parish
Family Day.

The excitement grew among the members  but after weeks of planning and “crunching the numbers”, it proved too costly.  We voted to decline the invitation.

Then it was truly by divine intervention and the warm hospitality of Teams Tobago that our visit then became possible.

Final arrangements were made and we were on our way to Tobago.  We were warmly greeted by Team members who generously provided transport to “The Ark”, a beautiful Retreat Center which was our “home” for the duration of our stay.  Our every need was provided and there was never a moment without a friendly face to ensure our comfort.

We were first exposed to the community at the Saturday evening mass; where our rendition of  “Aye Maria” was well appreciated.

Sunday dawned.  Our big day was here.  We packed our equipment and were taken to the site of the Family Day at Tablepiece.  We were in uniform, and as we entered the field, we aroused a sense of curiosity, which heightened as we began to “set up”.

As the programme advanced some members were made track officials while others preferred to enjoy the proceedings  from the sidelines.

At about 2 pm, we struck the first note.  The music was infectious, as both young and old could be seen clapping and dancing along with the music. The reaction to the music was more that we expected.  and the wonderful reaction seemed to have pervaded the band itself.

As we played selection after selection the intensity and excitement filled the air.  One of our impromptu musicians Mr. Carlos Dillon (brother of  a Teams Tobago member) played the cuatro along with the band.  We will always remember his comment “ This music sweeeet.  Ah feeling it in meh womb”.

Thanks Teams Tobago for a memorable time.  We thank in particular,  Cheryl and Franklyn Chitterman,  the  Dillons, the Leras,  Pam & Percy Joseph and last but not least John and Sylvia Chapman.  Further thanks to Fr. Tom and Sr. Rafael for their support.

EXPANSION NEWS

Since we last spoke with you we have taken our Teams of Our Lady expansion display and information to Siparia and Penal.  We were warmly received by both Parishes and plans are afoot to have Teams formed in these parishes.  Maldon and Allyson have so kindly agreed to pilot the new Siparia Team.

By now you would have seen the “pull out” in the Catholic News dedicated to Teams.  Thanks to the Newsletter Team for putting this together.

Unfortunately, our scheduled Picnic had to be postponed as the dates clashed with the World Cup Finals and we know how we love our football so it was decided that a safe time could be in September/October.  We will let you have. further details as they unfold.

Would you like to be part of the Prayer Teams who would undertake to specifically pray for the success of Expansion generally and in particular specific expansion events??  Call us at 667 3181.

Also, we take this opportunity to welcome the new Expansion Couple from Tobago – John and Sylvia Chapman.  Should you wish to reach them – they can be contacted at 639 7343.  We thank them for undertaking the restructuring and expansion of Teams in Tobago and wish them well in their efforts.
Dear Team Couples:

Terry and I will be giving up our responsibility as Sector Couple for the North West Sector in July.  A new Sector Couple will be announced at the Retreat and we want to assure them of your support and blessing.  We also,
wanted to thank all the couples within the Sector for their support and prayers over the years.

We encourage each couple in Teams to get more involved in either the Sector, Expansion, Newsletter Committee, etc. you can not imagine the many blessings we have received during our time of service.  Terry and I will continue to
be members of Teams and hopefully one day we will be given another opportunity to serve.

Again we thank you for your support and wish our successors many blessings.
