Important Update!!!
July 27, 2009
Techno: The Gamma Project has finally been released!
No, you're not hallucinating! I'm serious! After all these months, I have FINALLY released a demo. However, since Yahoo is going to close Geocities in a few months, I'm not going to waste time posting any more information on this website. To find more info and download the game for yourself, please visit my new(er) website, http://www.zazzle.com/technosuperguy

Oh, but for you loyal fans that have waited so long, I did go ahead an change this page's banner, so you can see Techno Beta and Techno Alpha's new looks!

Well, hope you enjoy the game!
Have fun!

Old News
(Stuff that's here for... historical purposes? Eh, whatever.)

1. Techno 2's official name will be Techno: The Gamma Project.
Yup. You read right. The game's been renamed. The number "2" just ain't gonna cut it
.

2. My website will be moving so
on!
Unfortunately, Yahoo Geocities, the service I use to host my website, will be closing down later this year -- which means Geocities.com/Techno_Superguy won't be around much longer. But never fear! I've already begun remaking my website on a different web host! My new site is still under heavy construction, but in case you're curious, you can find it her

Anyway, that's it for now. Read on if you want to fill your head with the same outdated info that's been on this site for months.

I am now (finally) working on Techno: The Gamma Proj
ect. The game is coming along smoothly, and at this rate, I hope to have a demo released within the next couple months.

I've been hiding a lot of information, but it's time I reveal some important things that you should know, so you won't be shocked when the demo is released. I've already stated most of the following info on other websites, but there are a few things I haven't explained until now. So, I've expanded the "few vague hints" below, and added some brand-new information that make shock, terrify, or nauseate you. Okay, maybe I'm stressing it a tad too much, but just keep reading anyway
.

The  "Few Vague Hints with some Brand-New Information" Secti
on:
First and foremos
t, Techno: The Gamma Project is NOT a Sonic fangame. Techno (Beta) and Alpha have been completely redesigned, so they aren't Sonic fan characters anymore. I'm not going to reveal their new appearances until the demo is released, so the only glimpse of Techno's makeover you get to see for now is in the darkened banner at the top of this page.

There are NO Sonic characters, or any other copyrighted material for that matter, in the game. Sorry, but you won't be seeing Knuckles, Eggman, Green Hill Zone, the Death Egg, or even Mega Man X this time around.

You may be thinking
, "But TechnoSuperguy, if you're not using any Sega stuff in Techno:TGP, what the blazing elephant crap are you using?!" Well, I'm glad you asked. The Gamma Project is 100% original -- that means I'm making every single sprite, background, sound effect, and level song myself. Oh, and don't worry, there will be plenty of fun new, original characters to replace the Sonic crew.

The movement engine for the sequel is far superior to the first. All the problems with glitchy slopes, acceleration, and deceleration have finally been resolved. However, there is no 360 degree movement, because I don't know how to program 360 and I don't want to use anyone else's engine.

The game is once again focused on challenge rather than speed, but thanks to the new movement engine, speed will play a much larger part than in Techno the Hedgehog.

Techno and Alpha are both playable characters, with their own unique stories and levels. They both have a brand new power, which makes the gameplay more strategic than in the first game. What is this new power, you ask
?

Here's what you've all been waiting f
or! Or at least some of you. Ah who am I kidding, you may have guessed already, thanks to the less-than-subtle banner at the top of this page. Anyway...

Techno and Alpha's all-new power is..
..
SHOOTI
NG!

Now, those of you who saw this page prior to March 21st know that I originally planned for Techno: The Gamma Project to be a complete Platform Shooter, and that I was going to leave Spin Jump attack out of the game, because I feared it was owned by Sega. BUT, thanks to information I and my friends have recently gathered, I've come to the realization that the Spin Jump is actually a common ability amongst video games, and Sega doesn't own it. So that means, I can use the Spin Jump without copying anyone! Yes, that's right..
..
-----------------------
---
The Gamma Project will have the Spin Jump after all! Huzz
ah!
-----------------------
---
So, while the game will indeed have a slight "Platform Shooter" style, the shooting will take a backseat to the traditional gameplay of the first game. Think of the shooting simply as an extra attack added to Techno's arsenal; it comes in handy in some levels, but it's not the focal point of the game.

Oh, but before you start getting too excited, t
he Spin Dash will NOT be in the game, because it won't function properly in my homemade engine. But hey, with all the other attacks at Techno's disposal, who needs a Spindash anyway?

Please, don't freak out or start worrying that Techno:TGP will be completely different than its predecessor, because it won't. Despite the aesthetic changes it has undergone, deep down, it has the same core gameplay and "feel" as the first game. It still has the Hoverboard, Green Shockwave, challenging speed-based levels, and of course, the humorous cutscenes. I'm confident that I've made the right choices, and I hope you enjoy the game even more than Techno the Hedgehog.

Of course, I value your input, so please leave me feedback
by dropping me a PM on Youtube,
t
he Game Maker Community, or YoyoGames.

Well, that's all I'm going to say about for now. Check back once in a while to see if I stopped being lazy and bothered to add any more information, or even a demo of the game!
