Gomez is the Patriarch of the Addams Household. He is a suave, debonaire man who's can -do attitude and looks exude an air of confidence. Gomez is a free-spirit. Hardly a care in the world fazes Gomez..unless it involves his family. Stress for Gomez is hardly a problem. When he does feel anxiety however, his favorite train set is available for head- on collisions and explosions and Yoga is put to new extremes to relax his muscles.Gomez is a cigar afficianado and until recently, a member of the Cigar of the month club. He is almost never without a lit cigar and he keeps them in a suit of armor in the family room already lit. How they do not burn to ash is a mystery.
Gomez's greatest assets are his affection for the household, particularly Morticia. He believes in romance and absolutely loves French, the language of Amore. Gomez will NEVER let the fires of passion dwindle from his marriage!

John Astin as Gomez Addams

John Astin

Born: March 30, 1930.

John Astin, born in Baltimore, Md. has a career which spans over 4 decades. His most notable portrayal to date has been as the suave Gomez Addams of the Addams Family TV show, (1964-1966), and as Buddy Ryan, the slightly insane father(?) figure in Nightcourt (1988-1990). John Astin has appeared in many of the more notorious B movies and has provided the voice for many childrens cartoon shows. Some of the films he is noted for are: Return of the Killer Tomatoes, National Lampoon's European Vacation, and uncredited for West Side Story(1961). He was married to tv actress Patty Duke from 1972 until 1975. He is the father of acclaimed stars Sean Astin and Mackenzie Astin. His most current works are as the Judge in The Frighteners(1996) and as the voice of Bull Gator in the animated "Taz-mania". He can also be seen in guest appearances as Grandpa Addams in "The New Addams Family"

Glenn Taranto

Born: January 27, 1959

Glenn was born in Hakensack, NJ. and grew up in Toms River and Island Heights. Although not well known before the New Addams Family Series began, Glenn has had a fairly decent career. His debut off Broadway was as SalAntonucci in in "Tony and Tina's Wedding". He underscored four other parts. Glenn made an amazing 428 performances in 16 months.
His TV roles have been mostly as "Extras" in MURDER SHE WROTE, 2 Episodes (not recurring) LAW & ORDER, (3 Episodes) EZ STREETS, (Pilot and 4 Episodes) BROOKLYN SOUTH, (Pilot and 2 Episodes) and MICHAEL HAYES, (4 Episodes)
Glenn made a name for himself as a consumate professional. In fact, Mr Taranto has appeared in a few movies also. Most notably as Mr. Escobedo in 8 Heads in a Dufflebag.
His current works include TILT. Four years prior to The New Addams Family, Glenn met, had his picture taken, and got the autograph of John Astin; both of which hung in his dressing room. Mr. Taranto Was not the first choice for the new Gomez.  Another actor was hired and replaced by Mr.
Taranto two days before shooting began.

Raul Julia as Gomez Addams Raul Julia

Born: March 9, 1940.
Died October 24, 1994

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico as Raul Rafael Carlos Julia y Arcelay, upon reaching Hollywood he shortened his name. Mr Julia's acting career also has spanned a number of decades, starting with a guest spot on the TV series "Love Of Life (1951). to "Street Fighter" (1994).
Of particular interest are his portrayals of Chico Mendes in the TV movie "The Burning Season"(1994) for which he recieved The Emmy award, The Golden Globe award and The Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Special, and as Gomez Addams, the suave latin lover in "The Addams Family" and the Addams Family Values.
Unfortunately, in 1994, Raul Julia passed away during the peak of his carreer fom complications caused by a stroke. He is survived by his wife Merel Polloway and his 2 sons.

Tim Curry

Born: April 14, 1946

Born in Grappenhall Chesire, England, Tim Curry is one of Hollywoods' best character actors. After 28 movies, over 30 TV appearances, countless theatre parts, and virtually hundreds of voice overs, he is known mostly for one role; That of Dr Frankenfurter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Tim went to Birmingham University due to its affiliation with the Shakespear Institute in Stratford. While there, he helped write the theatre production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The show was so well recieved that a film was eventually made with Tim reprising his role. The film was such a cult hit that it played in theatres for many years after its release. Even now, there are theatres who still pay homage to this classic cult film.
