Deja vous? ......well, almost! .......or maybe we were
all caught in a time warp!
It was one of the most exciting experiences shared by all of us who
reunited for a few hours and then couldn't seem to part.
|
A very, very special thanks to Pat Qualliotine, who apparently
knows and keeps in touch with the entire seniority list. And also
to Pat Groh, who talks and visits with nearly everyone no matter
where in the world they are. I am so grateful to the two Pats
for gathering us together again before any of us join our friends who are
waiting in the sky lounge.

A SINCERE THANK YOU TO

Before anyone could finish saying, "how nice
it would be to get together again," the two Pats enlisted the aid
of Eddie Gibbons for a meeting place. Gibbons' Irish
Pub, the "Potsheen Stil," was a favorite pit stop for many of us on the
way home after a flight. It was the place of wonderful parties and
memories. ........that was long ago! ..... and
that pub no longer exists. BUT, Eddie's son, is
carrying on the tradition of "Gibbons' Pub." Our
thanks to the entire Gibbons family, for their part in this reunion.

At least two of Eddie's sons followed in
their father's footsteps and work for airlines. This second generation
Gibbons' Pub is steeped in nostalgia, with airline memorabilia, posters
and stills from the John Wayne movie, "The Quiet Man". Eddie was
an extra in that movie when it was filmed in Ireland, his home.
There are also authentic road signs from Ireland and, what appears to be
a small fortune in collectibles. The atmosphere is delightful and
the food is terrific. The Irish soda bread is the best I've tasted
anywhere. I'll have to see what Eastern memorabilia I can trade for
some of that soda bread. The company was unsurpassed.
Love ya' Eddie |
