The First Impact

According to Shinji's school book, the First Impact occured when a meteorite struck the earth some 65 million years ago in the Caribbean Sea, generating a tremendous amount of heat energy which killed off the dinosaurs and made way for man. The impact created a tremendous temperature change and created a kind of nuclear winter driving the dinosaurs into extinction.

The Second Impact

Again, according to the text in Shinji's schoolbook, the Second Impact has been explained as the fall of massive meteorite on Markham Mountain, Antarctica. The impact again created a tremendous amount of heat energy and melted much of the ice in Antarctica. All of this is of course a lie. The Second Impact was really the result of the first Angel, Adam, exploding while scientists from across the globe studied it. Gendo Ikari and Dr. Katsuragi were purposely following the scenario depicted in the Dead Sea Scrolls while they were studing the Angel. Dr. Katsuragi used his S2 theory to awaken the beast. When they realized that the awakening of the first might awaken all other Angels depicted in the Dead Sea Scrolls, they began to shrink Adam into it's embriodic state, which caused it to explode.

The Third Impact

Third Impact is actually the process that combines a humans soul with the souls of all other humans inside one being to create a supreme being. It is the persuit to find God, or to become God itself that causes the Third Impact. The Third Impact can occur in one of two ways. The Third Impact will occur if one of the 17 Angels touches Adam, the first of the Angels. The other way Third Impact may occur is if all of the other Angels are defeated. The Third Impact dose not 'fully' occur in Evangelion; Rei enters Lillith and becomes the host for all of mans souls. However, Lillith has lost it's A.T. Field (soul) so therefore it cannot hold the souls of man inside itself. Lillith and Rei are destoryed and Shinji and Asuka are the only two humans left on the planet.

Adam

Adam is the first Angel ever. Adam resided in Antarctica until Gendo Ikari and Dr. Katsuragi discovered it. They began to study Adam and actually awakened Adam, but began to shrink it back into it's embriodic state when they realized they would awaken all other Angels if Adam was fully revived. When Adam began to shrink, it exploded creating the Second Impact. After the explosion, Adam was never found, however parts of it were used to re-create it, and eventually it was shrunken down into it's embryotic state. Parts of Adam were also used to creat the Evangelions. Nerv knows that mankind and the Angels were created from Adam, but if an Angel touches Adam, all of man will be wiped off the face of the earth. To prevent this from happening, Nerv created the Evangelions to combat the Angels and prevent them from reaching Adam's embryo.

Lilith

Lilith is the second Angel and the mother of all life. She wears a mask with an inverted triangle on it that features seven eyes (the same face that appears in the SEELE logo). She is impaled by the Spear of Longinus in Terminal Dogma. Her legs do not grow because of the Spear, and she bleeds L.C.L., which is collected in a large sea and used in the Entry Plugs. Nobody knows where Lilith came from and at one point, Lilith was thought to be Adam. In the beginning, Lilith and the Spear of Longinus are the key-stones in the Human Instrumentality Project, but when Adams embryo is obtained by Nerv, Adam takes Liliths place. When the Spear of Longinus is lost, Unit-01 is considered for the place of Lilith.

The Tree of Life
A long time ago, when God created man, there where two trees growing in the Garden of Eden. One was the 'Tree of Life' and the other, the 'Tree of Wisdom'. Only man was allowed to eat the fruits on the Tree of Life, while only God was allowed to eat from the Tree of Wisdom. When man disobeyed God's orders, they were banished from the Garden of Eden and their gift of eternal life was taken as they could no longer eat from the Tree of Life. The Angels were actually another form of humans who obeyed God's orders. They were allowed to remain in the Garden of Eden and were given the gift of eternal life. The Angels names are derrived from the Tree of Life.

The Tree of Wisdom
The other tree in the Garden of Eden, the Tree of Wisdom bared a kind of fruit called the 'Fruit of Wisdom' which God (and God only) was allowed to eat. When man ate the Fruit of Wisdom, they lost the gift of eternal life and were forced to leave Eden. However, they were able to survive because they had eaten the Fruit of Wisdom. The Fruit of Wisdom allowed man to adapt to their surroundings and gave them the power of science to continue living and to create the Evangelions.

Kabbalah
Kabbalah is Hebrew for 'tradition'. It is the study of Divinity and the relationship between God and his creation. These studies are based on the premises of revealed truth. The Kabbalah allows man to go beyond the normal realm of understanding of reason. The Kabbalah has uncovered many of the infinate layers of the secrets of life, creation and soul or Heavenly Spheres. The Kabbalah is a highly esoteric strain of mysticism within Judaism that first arose in Spain in the twelfth century and it is also claimed to be a collection of secret knowledge handed down directly from God to Adam and Moses that provides the initiate with the ability to approach God directly.

Systema Sephirothicum

The diagram, Systema Sephiroticum (The Sephirothic System) that appears in Eva's opening credits over Misato's right hand and on the ceiling of Gendo's office was drawn by a German priest, Athanasius Kircher, in 1653. Kircher's drawing was based on his study of the Kabbalah. The Kabbalah was originally based on what might be called a crypto logic premise, that Creation itself was a process involving the ten digits as divine numbers or sephiroth, and the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Together they constituted the 32 paths of sacred wisdom.

The Dead Sea Scrolls
The Dead Sea Scrolls are the most important archaeological find of the 20th century. These scrolls were founded by a young Bedouin shepherds while searching for a stray goat in a long untouched cave in the Judean Desert. Within a fairly short time after the discovery, the historical, the paleographic, linguistic evidence, and carbon-14 dating, established that these scrolls and the Qumran ruin were dated from the third century B.C.E. to 68 C.E. Coming from the late Second Temple Period, the time when Jesus of Nazareth lived, they were older than any other surviving biblical manuscripts by almost one thousand years. The text of these scrolls fortells of how man will move into it's next stage of evolution.

The Human Instrumentality Program
Also knows as the 'Human Completion Project'; A long time ago, man learned that they had reached the dead lock in their evolution from the text of the Dead Sea Scrolls. In order to begin the next stage in evolution, the merging of all man into perfect single being, man learned that it must provoke the Third Impact by using either Lilith or Evangelion Unit 01 with the Spear of Longinus. The Human Instrumentality Program was actually under the direction of SEELE, and the secret agency Nerv was the implementation organization. Evangelion was in fact not planned as a weapon to defeat Angels but to realize this program.

The Secret of Evangelion Unit 00

Unit 00 goes berserk two times in the TV series. In the first incident, Unit 00 is having its first activation test. Durring the text, Unit 00 goes berserk and attempts to hit Gendo Ikari who is watching the test from an ovservation room with other Nerv staff controling the test. The Second time Unit 00 goes berserk also occurrs in the same laboratory, but this time, the target is Rei Ayanami. The only person who hates Rei and Gendo is Naoko Akagi. Gendo Ikari lied to her and Rei I, whom is the clone of Yui Ikari, Gendo's deceased wife. It seems that Naoko Akagi's soul was used in the creation of Unit 00 after she died.

The Secret of Evangelion Unit 01

One of the most amazing Evangelions ever built, Evangelion Unit-01 was the second Evangelion built and the first to be placed in battle. It contributed heavily to the battles against the Angels, althought it also puzzled those at Nerv. Unit 01 has, on several occasions, gone into a berserk state, even after losing all power. It also activated it self without an inserted Entry Plug. Inside Unit 01, Yui Ikari lives on as the soul for the Eva. She protects Shinji in a way and is the reason for some of Eva's strage reactivations. The physical body of Unit-01 was formed from Lilith, which is the reason why when the Spear of Longinus is lost, Unit 01 is the only other suitable substitute for the tool of the Human Instrumentality Program.

The Secret of Evangelion Unit 02

Unit 02 was the worlds first ever real Evangelion as Units 00 and 01 were the prototypes. It's components were manufactured in Japan, and it was constructed Germany where it's activation test also occured. It's first battle occured while it was being shipped to Japan where it would take the job of defending Tokyo-3 like the other Evangelions. As with all Evangelions, a soul is required in order to make the Eva work. The soul behind Unit 02 is Kyoko Zeppelin Soryu, Asuka's mother. Asuka had a severe hatred for her mother and was damaged mentally as a child. When piloting Eva, Asuka feels that her mother is there to protect her, something she dosen't want, which is one of the contributing factors in Asuka's mental instability.

The Evangelions

Evangelions are multipurpose humanoid fighting machines. Nerv built the Eva's from Adam in order to achieve their goal of Instrumentality, mankinds next evolutionary stage. They are constructed of several key parts; an organic part which makes up it's organs and the same stuff that alows us humans to live, a mechanical part, which protects it from damage and is like the skin, and a soul which allows it to function. The Evas are controlled in by a 'Child' who sits in the Entry Plug and controls the movement of the Eva, and by controllers at Central Dogma. They are powered by an umbilical cable that can be found in many places around Tokyo-3. If the umbilical cable is ever cut, the Eva's have 5 minutes to find a new source of power before they run out of energy.

The Angels

Possessing a variety of forms that goes beyond concepts of living and non living entities, they are known as the enemies of human race, threatening mankind's existence with their super scientific capabilities (destructive weapons) while at the same time, they help mankind evolve and are important in the realization of the Human Instrumentality Project. The Angels originated from Adam and they must return to Adam, so when Adam was awakened, they were also awakened and began their 'quest' to reach him. It also appears that the Angels want to challenge Human Race because Adam has been caught by Nerv.

Nerv

An organization which is directly attached to the United Nations, the existence of which is not known to the general public. Possessing super advanced science and technology, it has developed Evangelions, the only thing that can stand up to the Angels. Nerv was created by SEELE in order to realize the Human Instrumentality Program. Members of Nerv believe that they are attempting to stop the Third Impact, but they are really working to achieve Instrumentality by Commander Ikari's and SEELE's wishes, howevwer, Gendo's wish is to reach his wife, and SEELE's wish is to create one single superior being composed of all mankinds souls.

SEELE

SEELE is a secret organization that existed before the Second Impact. It hides the truth about the Second Impact and the existence of Angels and uses its power to abuse UN and other countries. After the Second Impact, SEELE used the UN as a cover, establishing the Committee of the Human Instrumentality Program, Nerv, in order to develop the Evangelions in the attempt to reach Instrumentality. A member of SEELE is part of the Comitte of the Human Instrumentality Program. SEELE follows the scenarios depicted in the Dead Sea Scrolls to reach their goal.

The Marduk Organization
The Marduk Organization is a non-existant group which is used for searching and selecting the qualified pilots for Evangelion, also known as 'Fourth Level Canidates'. The qualifications are rather stiff, apparently only 14 years old children without mothers can operate Evangelion. It seems that The Marduk Organization has grouped all qualified children in Class 2-A of the First Municipal Junior High School of Tokyo-3. Marduk has 108 agencies around the world and all of them are dummy companies, which hints that the Marduk organization does not really exist. The Marduk Organization and it's work is really done by Nerv.

Marduk
The highest God of Babylon called "The Lord of Gods of Heaven and Earth". Marduk rose to power by conquering Tiamat, the monster of Chaos. Some of Babylon's most elaborate temples were built to worship Marduk and as the conquering armies of the empire overran most of the Middle East, worship of Marduk spread to those lands.

Yui Ikari
Yui Ikari is the beloved wife of Gendo. It seemed that she belonged to SEELE at the very beginning. She was married to Gendo whom she knew while she attended Kyoto University. After her marriage, she worked with her husband in Gehirn and spent a lot of time and effort on the E-Project. During an activation experiment of Unit 01, Yui's synchronization rate reached over 400% and she disappeared in the entry plug of Unit 01. Nevertheless, her soul remains in Unit 01 and she has become the core of Unit 01. Though Shinji did not remember until the end of the series, he already knew Eva as a child and was present when Yui dissapeared.

Naoko Akagi
Naoko Akagi is the mother of Ritsuko and the mistress to Gendo. She developed the Magi Super Computers and Human Personality Transplant OS. She started to work with SEELE and it seemed that she took charge of Project-E. One day, Rei-I confronted her and frustrated her with the hateful words of Gendo regarding herself, to the point where she killed her. Immediatly after this, Naoko committed suicide in front of one of the Magi.

Kyoko Zeppelin Soryu
Kyoko Zeppelin Soryu is the mother of Asuka Langly Soryu. Kyoko became very involved in her work and began to ignore her daughter, Asuka. After an accident durring an experiment, she began to 'break-down' mentally. She began to ignore Asuak even more and eventually adoped a small rag doll as her daughter, whom she would talk to, rather than Asuka. Kyoko's soul was used in the creation of Unit 02 after she hung herself at the mental hospital. This incident sent Auska into a state of mental dismay. Asuka would never recover and became an ego-maniac that thought she could take care of herself.

Rei Ayanami's True Identity

Rei Ayanami was the first child selected by the Marduk Organization and was designated to pilot Unit 00. She is a young girl who apparently has a lack of emotions. She was really made from the body of Yui Ikari which was salvaged from Unit 01. Rei has multiple copys of herself in Central Dogma. Rei's soul is made by water and light, the rest of the bodies are processed into an 'artificial soul' and are just 'spare parts' of the dummy plugs and the real Rei. She is said to process some Angel like characteristics and it also seems that her soul is somehow derived from Lilith.

Kourow Nagisas Death

Kaworu Nagisa was the fifth child sent to Nerv for the purpose of piloting an Evangelion. After Asuka's encounter with the 15th Angel, she was left mentally distraught, so Kourow was sent to take her place as a pilot, however, his real identity is the 17th Angel. It can be assumed that he is an Angel that was captured by SEELE in his embryotic stage. Different from other Angels, he has a mind quite close to human's mind. When Kaworu reaches the Terminal Dogma, he finds that the Angel on the cross is not Adam but Lilith. He understands what humans struggles about and he feels compassion which is something he has never felt before. He realizes that life and death are equal but only death can fully release him from his destiny of living forever. He knows that if he lives, everyone will die. He dosen't want everybody to die, especially Shinji, so he requests Shinji to kill him which he does.

Ex-Tokyo
The capital city of Japan before Second Impact. It is the largest city in Japan. Annihilated by human's new invention, the N2 Weapon, seven days after the Second Impact. Because of Tokyo's destruction, many wars broke out between remaining countries. The temporary Japanese Government gave on the re-construction of Tokyo and decided to move the capital to Nagano in 2001, which would be renamed Tokyo 2.

Tokyo 2
The new capital city of Japan after Second Impact. Built in the old Nagano prefecture to replace the old Tokyo. Construction started in 2001. After the second capital relocation plan was agreed in 2005, it was planned that the capital would once again be moved to Tokyo-3, still under construction then. Again, the construction of Tokyo-2 was decided by the Provisional Government of Japan.

Tokyo 3

Tokyo-3 is a city under construction near Lake Ashino in Hakone Area. Constructed as a fortress for all mankind in an attempt to save humans from the Angels, it's large buildings are really Armement Buildings for the Evangelions. When an Angel attacks, all of the non-Armement Buildings are lowered beneath the earth's surface where the Geo Front Exists and Nerv's head quarters is located.

Armament Buildings
Armament Buildings look like other high rise buildings in Tokyo-3 but they house the weapons, Umbilical Cables and transportation routes used by the Evangelions. They have been scattered strategically all over the city in anticipation of an Angel's attack.

The Geo-Front
A large and complex underground city buried deep below Tokyo-3. This was built by using a pre-existing 13.75km in diameter spherical cavity. This cavity is used to house Nerv's headquarters and protects the buildings of Tokyo 3 when the Angels attack. Nerv Headquarters is located at the center of Geo Front, and is surrounded by larege artificial forests, underground lakes, rivers and hills. After the Third Impact began, this spherical cavity became the egg of Lilith called the Black Moon.

The Announcement Room
The Announcement Room can be said as the main heart of Nerv. The operations of the Magi Super-computers and the controlling of all kinds of facilities in Tokyo 3 as well as the Evangelions have been done there. The Announcement Room has many screens that can view any part of Nerv, so all movements of Nerv's staff have been fully monitor. Normally, only Magi's operators, head of departments, pilots and Commander Ikari are allowed to enter this room.

The Monoliths Room
The most secret room of Nerv headquarters which only Gendou and Fuyutsuki can enter. This room is reserved for Ikari Gendou to communicate with the 12 monoliths of SEELE, which never actually show their faces to any of the members of Nerv. Nerv's staff are allowed to enter this room only when the 12 monoliths want to meet them. The Monoliths have a rule for this room; The lying ones will be punished to death.

Central Dogma
Central Dogma can be divided into many layers, levels and sectors. Central Dogma houses many laboratories and some unknown facilities like Mega Depth Facilities. The center of Central Dogma, which is 2008m under the Geo-Front, is the location of Dummy Plug System, the main factory that produces Rei's Dummies and Dummy Plugs. Inside this factory is one big test tube, a brain structure like machine and a special big tank made for Rei's dummies.

Terminal Dogma

Terminal Dogma is located below Central Dogma and it's look exactly like old Antarctica which is full of ice and covered with snow. Actually, Terminal Dogma is used to hide Lilith and stores L.C.L., the blood of Lilith. That's why Terminal Dogma is also known as the L.C.L Plant. Normally, there are no guards in Terminal Dogma because Nerv does not allow anyone to go there. Even Ritsuko and Gendou seldom go there.

The Evangelion Graveyard

The Evangelion Graveyard is located in Central Dogma. It is used as the main experiment laboratory of Gehirn (now Nerv) for developing Evangelions and the Magi System long time ago. After Yui Ikari disappeared, this room had been disposed and used as the graveyard for failure Evangelions. Inside this place, there are many bodies of failure prototype Evangelions.

Reis Room

As with the Evangelion Graveyard, Reis room (the one she was born in) is also locates in Central Dogma. This place has been used as Artificial Evolution Laboratory, but was dumped 10 years ago. Inside of this room theres is nothing but a bed, a table and a few disposed boxes. Actually, this is the place where Rei was born and it seems that Rei has lived there for a long time.

S.C. Magi

S.C.Magi is the 5th generation and first artificial intelligence super computer that uses cloned human brains as its CPU. The Magi is a combination of three coputers name Melchior, Balthasar and Casper, which are also the name of the three kings who visited Lord Jesus. Magi is operated by tackling problems and forming solution. These computers also represent the three personalities of its creator Dr. Naoko Akagi, Ritsukos mother, which are the scientist in her, the mother in her and the woman in her.

The Entry Plug System

The Entry Plug is a special cylinder put into the back bone of Evangelions in order to connect with the Central Nerve System of Evangelion. The Entry Plug comes with a plug suit and a pair of hair clips that help the pilot to synchronize with its Evangelion. When a pilot is in control of the Evangelion, the Entry Plug is filled with L.C.L., the bood of Lilith that also helps them to synchrnoize with their Evangelions.

The Dummy Plug System

The Dummy Plug was developed for using the Evangelions without a pilot. The pilot of the Dummy Plug is a clone of Rei Ayanami and it is just a container of her soul. Nerv put a digitized personality into the dummy when using this system to attempt to control the Evangelions. The dummies' lives are prolonged by the Dummy Plug System which preserves more clones in L.C.L. and creates new ones. Rei Ayanamis memories are copied into those dummies. The real soul of Rei will transfer into another dummy only when Rei dies.

The Plug Suit
The Plug suit is much more than just an article of clothing worn by the Evanglion pilots. The Plug Suit will raise the synchronization rate and protect pilot's body when the pilot is combating with the Evangelion. This suit is a one piece covering from feet to neck. Its structure is similar to wet-suit. There will still be space between the suit and the body after it is put on, but by clicking on the switch on the left wrist, the suit then sticks to the body. By clicking on the switch on the right wrist, the suit will become a heatproof suit.

L.C.L.
L.C.L is an acronym for "Link Connection Liquid". It is the blood of Lilith, who bleeds and creates a sea of L.C.L. in Terminal Dogma where this Angel is nailed to a cross and stabbed in the left chest by the Spear of Longinus in Terminal Dogma. L.C.L is used to help pilots in EVAs to be able to breath more oxygen when they are in combat mode. L.C.L also enables the pilot in the Entry Plug to synchronize with his or her Evangelion more effectively.

The A.T. Field
A.T. is an acronym for Absolute Terror, but Herv and anyone who knows of this field refers to it as the A.T.Field. It is a physical barrier which can deflect or reduce any violence attack including a nuclear bomb. In Episode #24, Kourow Nagisa says that only the soulless can set their synchronization rate at their descrition when synchronizing with their Evngelion. He also notes that humans are separated by the A.T. Field which is always present in their heart. When the field is able to disturb Light waves and Particles Waves around it, it will form a barrier.

N² Weaponry
The N² Weapon is a kind of weapon that possesses enormous destructive power. These kinds of dangerous weapons are owned only by the UN and Japanese Strategic Self Defense Force. From Episode #16, we can know that there are 992 N² bombs left in UN and JSSDF. Also, there are many variations of these kinds of weapons like N² mines, N² deep water charge, N² air charge and N² bombs. N² weapons are non-nuclear so they do not have any radioactive properties, but they are extremely dangerous and can leave enormus craters in the Earth when detonated.

The Progressive Knife
The Progressive Knife is the basic fighting weapon used by Evangelion Unit 01 and Unit 02. The edge of the Progressive Knife features high frequency vibrating particles which can cut through almost anyobject object on contact on a molecular level. The Progressive Knife is usually stored in the left shoulder blades of the Evangelion.

The Positron Rifle
The Positron Rifle is used by the Evangelions, can be divided into three models. They are JSSDF FX-1 Modified Positron Rifle, long range Positron 20x Rifle and short range Positron 20x Rifle. The last two models are developed by Nerv in order to fight against the Angels. The Positron Rifle is also one of the weapons which can penetrate an A.T. Field produced by Angels, this event is very rare, however.

The S² Engine
The S² Engine is present in Evangelion Unit 01, and is the red core underneath the armor of this Evangelion. It is the energy source for Evangelion, even though this Evangelion is supposed to use electricity to function, which is why this Evangelion has been known to go berserk when without power. The Evangelions can convet 100% of mass into energy. In the Evangelion series, only the Evangelion Mass Production Model's S² Engine (these Evangelions are not seen until the movie The End of Evangelion) is fully developed and can be used in any time by simply assigning a target to the Dummy Plug system and the Evangelion will follow the assigned mission.

The Spear of Longinus
The Spear of Longinus which has impaled Lilith in the left part of its chest, is also called as The Spear of Destiny. This Spear belonged to the Roman Centurion who pierced the side of Lord Jesus while He was hung on the cross. In order to initiate the Third Impact or Instrumentality, man must use this Spear with either Evangelion Unit 01or Lilith. SEELE wants to use this Spear with Lilith to initiate the Third Impact but Nerv is forced to use the spear to defeat the Arael the fifteenth Angel and as a result, the spear ends up orbiting the moon.

The Umbilical Cable
The Umbilical Cable an enormus cable that is used to supply electricity to the Evangelions. It can be found in any armament building in Tokyo-3. Without the Umbilical Cable, the Evangelions only have a maximum of 5 minutes of extra power in their batter packs to continue battle, so it is imperative that an Evangelion always be connected to an Umbilical Cable.

The Sea of Dirac
The 12th Angel is a spherical object. Below it is a large black shadow about 680 meters in diameter and about 3 nanometers in thickness. Inside the shadow is a super thin space sustained by an inverted A.T. Field and the interior of the A.T. Field is an imaginary space known as "The Sea of Dirac" which can only be explained by abstract mathematics. The Spherical object above the Sea of Dirac is only a shadow. This sphere object vanishes only when the imaginary circuit is closed when something tried to fire at it. When the imaginary circuit is switched on again, the black shadow begins to suck everything. The Sea of Dirac may be connected to another dimension/space.

The Super Solenoid Theory
The Super Solenoid Theory (S² Theory) which is mentioned in the theatrical Evangelion release Evangelion : Death and Rebirth was developed by Dr.Katsuragi. With this theory, man can convert 100% of mass into energy without any loss. This theory has once been used by the scientists of the arctic expedition (that began the Second Impact) in order to awaken Adam. This theory has led humanity into a tragedy and humanity nearly vanishes from the world.

The Ark
The Ark which is mentioned in the theatrical release Evangelion : Death and Rebirth is a story from Old Testament of Bible. This story talks of Noah who received a revelation from God to build a large boat and put all animals in pairs onto it, thus saving all species from the flood occurred by God to destroy the evil people in the world. In Evangelion : Death and Rebirth, the meaning is same as the Old Testament of Bible, saving human from the flood of the Third Impact by using Unit 01.

The Purification Ceremoney of the Red Soil
The Purification Ceremony of Red Soil is a kind of ceremony planned by SEELE to unlock humanity from their present destiny. The Red Soil here means the source of creating Adam. After the ceremony, man will be reborn and will escape from death forever. As Keel Lorenz said : "Although this will lead human to death, but this is also a new beginning of humanity. God and Human use death to become one."

The Sea of L.C.L.
The Sea of L.C.L mentioned by Rei-3 in theatrical release The End of Evangelion is the place of origin of all life. It is a world with no A.T. Field and no existence of human shapes. There are no barriers inside the heart of human anymore, no fear anymore, no existence of others anymore and everything has become one. This world is being described by Rei-3 as the world that Shinji wants.

Guf's Room
Guf's Room mentioned in the theatrical release The End of Evangelion is a door to the beginning and the ending of the world, the hall of souls. When this door opens, the surface of the Earth will turn into the Sea of L.C.L. and all life will give up their shapes and return to their L.C.L state. Guf's Room has been explained as the place where a new born child receives his soul from in Hebrew Bible. When Guf's Room has no more souls left, this means the end of the world.

The Black Moon
The Black Moon which is mentioned by SEELE is actually the egg of Lilith, the source of life. When the Third Impact begins, the red soil around the black moon will be revealed. Black Moon will then float in the sky and then immediately becomes the median between man and Lilith. All life will give up their shapes and their souls to gather around Black Moon and then enter into Lilith's body.

The End Of Evangelion
Actually, the Third Impact will occur as a result of a wish of Gendou to meet his beloved wife, Yui who passed on when Shinji was just a child. After Rei-3 left Gendou and went to Lilith alone, she decided to make a new world which Shinji always dreams for, a world which has no existence of others. All souls in the world enter into Lilith body and become one being. Rei-3 realizes Shinji's dream and tells him that this is the world he has always dreamed for. Shinji knows that this world is different from his dream. Finally, Shinji chooses the world of reality, instead of the world with now people, and starts his new life, even if he will hurt by the others or not. Unit 01 follows Shinji's wish and leaves Lilith. The Third Impact fails, all souls have been released from the neck of Lilith and orbiting the Earth. Lilith's body and egg break into pieces, Replica of Spear of Longinus is destroyed, the Completed Evangelion Series become stones and drop back to Earth.
