Cat's Official Week:
This one is Be Late For Something Week. So sleep in or whatever. Topic 1) My College Experience: - By Me
For the last two nights, I've attended two football games. One was the ever-predictable blowout at Central, with my usual social outlet. But last night was completely different. I went to a Georgia Tech game. It's SO different from high school. So much freedom, so many crazy people. It's like experiencing a little slice of heaven while still knowing you're trapped in hell. So of course you play the heaven up to its full potential.
In fact, I wore that big straw hat of mine, decorated so I could look like an insane Tech fan. We even put a bumblebee thingy on top. This hat was a HUGE hit with the drunk guy behind us. He said he needed it so he could "get the crowd up."
Oh, that's also something different about college games. People actually WATCH the game, and have SPIRIT. And everyone thinks the band is cool. (Yes, the high school band is cool, but I don't know all the words to Central's fight song, do I?) College games aren't just some big mixer where people pay five bucks to flirt with each other.
Along with that spirit are the ever-popular songs. We must've heard the Tech fight song at least twenty times. My favorite part was the end: "GO JACK-ETS! FIGHT! WIN! DRINK! GET NAKED!" (The last two exclamations aren't exactly in the written music...) It was also very fun to hear more than a thousand people yelling "BULLLLL-SHIT!" on the same tune in unison. (It was on the same notes as "AIR-BALL!")
So college seems a LOT more fun than high school. No stupid bells. No "wolf-pack" administrators. And best of all, no parents. Count me in! Topic 2) The Incubus Song: - By Shannon Mylander
Alright, people! Everyone keeps saying to me, "I love that song 'Drive' by Incubus because I'm driving now and it talks about my freedom." (Ok, well, 'everyone' didn't say it, but some people have!) Now, next time you listen to the song...actually listen to the lyrics! The song is about DRUNK DRIVING and not to do it! That is why I love the song. It is talking about a real life issue, not like love, but like how to stay alive and to save others! It just annoys me so much that people think its just about getting your license and driving when, really, it is telling you to be smart and not to drink and drive! Ugh! Listen to the song. You will see that I am correct! Thank you for letting me get that out! And yes, Cat, I AM beautiful like me!
~Shannon Topic 3) Cat's Song of the Week:
"Fallin'" by Alicia Keys. I'm not sure why I chose this one. Some strange hormonal thing, maybe.Topic 3) Webpage of the Week:
Remember those Letter People from Kindergarten? I only remember when I dig way back into that dusty area of my brain. But here's their site:
