I used to have an internet webstore called The Quilt Stash, http://thequiltstash.safeshopper.com, that was the actual website address.
I then purchased the right to use the domain name of "www.thequiltstash.com". I only purchased this right for a year. Before I owned it, if you had typed in www.thequiltstash.com, you would have recieved an error message. But then I bought it and used it. NOW, I used this www.thequiltstash.com to lead shoppers to http://thequiltstash.safeshopper. the www address was only a link. IT IS NOT where the actual store site was.
When I sold out my partnership, I sold out everything, including the website. It was then up to my EX-partner the purchase the right to use that link again if she wanted to. BUT, she changed the name of the store and did not renew the www.thequiltstash.com.
UNFORTUNATELY, there are people out there that it is their job to watch for these domain names to become available and quickly buy them up. It is just my luck, that a Gay Male Porn site has bought the one I had used.....ooohhhh lucky me!
