Who am I?
Hello,
My name is Nicole de Lapeyrouse. I have had several nicknames over the years..one of my favourites used to be Tweety. Now most of my friends call me Nicki.
Let me tell you something about myself... In November of 1977, my parents, Barbara and Andre, gave birth to a baby girl that they named Nicole Anne de Lapeyrouse. I was born and subsequently raised on the island of Trinidad (the southernmost island in the Caribbean, just off the coast of Venezuela, for those of you who aren't familiar with the West Indies). I am now 26 years of age, positively ancient I tell you. *smile*
I have one younger brother Louis Andre who was born almost five years after me. As far as siblings go we get along very well, though my mother might disagree as she's always telling me we're like cat and dog.
My primary school was St. Monica's and my secondary schools St, Joseph's Convent, P.O.S., where I did O levels and St. Clair's Secondary School in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, where I did my OACs. I'm a graduate of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, where I majored in Geography and English. Now that I have finished university, I have returned to Trinidad and I am now working there with American Airlines. One of these days I plan on continuing my studies at a Teacher's College, perhaps in Florida and then...hopefully...teaching. It's something I've always longed to do and think I will be very good at. I hope that I never forget the joy of learning and instill that same joy into my students.
I really enjoyed living in Canada a lot, and even became acclimatized to the winter while there. *laugh* I return from time to time to visit with my family and friends there.
I've always loved children and often think that I get along better with them than with some adults I can think of. *grin* I also love animals..my mother used to despair of me because I was always bringing home strays.. I especially love dogs and horses. I have two adorable dogs, who are very much a part of my family.
Some of my main interests involve reading and writing literature. One of these days I will add some of my writings to this web page. :)
Other than that, I enjoy cycling, hiking, swimming...
And of course...liming with my friends whether they be Canadian, Trinidadian or any other nationality..
