By far, one of my favorite means of illustration is through traditional medium. Whether it be pencils, colored pencils, charcoals or paints, It's likely I've been there, done that, and have quite enjoyed it. Since I do so many works in traditional mediums, I won't be limiting this page to any specific number of works. There's alot to see. Enjoy!                                        The Nexus Core Powers Series
Fairly recently, I decided to do an excercize in mixed medium. cutting out eight  roughly 5 1\2 x 7 1\2 inch pieces of Bristol bored I illustrated each of the eight members of my fanfiction title Nexus in an amalgum of water colors, oil pastels, acrylics, colored pencils and inks. Each image only took roughly 1 to 2 hours to make. My main purpose in it was to set aside fears of proper anatomy and line placement, and to instead focus on creating light and movement with the mediums. I'm pretty pleased with the result.
"Bad Kitty." I decided to try a quick multi-media version of Marvel Comics' Sabretooth. This is done in watercolors, Prismacolor colored pencils, oil pastels, inks, and acrylic paint. Image is copyright 2003 of Melissa 'Mel' Miller.
"Savvy Indeed" - A little tribute to Johnny Depp. Graphite on 8 1\2 x 12 inch bristol board. Image is copyright 2003 of Melissa 'Me' Miller.
"SRV - Rude Mood" The late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan. Done in charcoal on a piece of matte board that is 2 feet by 8 1\2 inches x 3 feet and 4 inches in size. Artwork is copyright 2003 of Melissa 'Mel' Miller.
"Robert Plant" My mom's birthday gift back in 2001. She was quite pleased to go about saying she got Rober Plant for her birthday. LOL. Charcoal on standard sized poster board. Artwork copyright 2001 of Melissa 'Mel' Miller
"Self Impression" One of my favorite acrylic paintings, just because it was so damned fun to do. Done in about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, this canvas painting was a class-assigned self portrait. I decided to take on a more impressionistic look about it, for amusement's sake. My mother has since conviscated it for her room. LOL. Artwork is copyright 2001 of Melissa 'Mel' Miller
"Elysium Wolves" This is actually the third segment of a huge pencil piece I did for an original concept I'm developing. The wolves pictured here are Kallee, Akita and O'Konnor. Graphite on Bristol. Image, characters and insignia are copyright 2002 of Melissa 'Mel' Miller.
"Illustration from Exodus" An old favorite illustration of mine from an original concept called "Exodus". Image and characters are copyright 1999 of Melissa 'Mel' Miller.
"Mortimer Gets Pissy" Ode to Ray Park, who, by some odd miracle, actually managed to make a dumpy character like Marvel's Toad cool. Graphite on print paper. Artwork is copyright 2000 of Melissa 'Mel' Miller.

I've been working on my Dr. Quinn/Hank Lawson fanfic for... oh... next to forever now. Eventually, if and when I finish the thing, it'll get its own little website. Until then, it's little scribbles will be hosted here at the Tweek. You can read Full Circle on the Writings page. Run your mouse cursor over the thumbnail for a description.
"Busted - Take 1." A pseudo-illustration (ie an extremely quick doodle) for part 1 of Full Circle. Hank catches Adrian trying to rob him blind. Oops. Image and Adrian are copyright 2004 of Melissa 'Mel' Miller.
"Lynch and Bogey." A sketchbook pic of Tyler Lynch, everyone's (least)favorite nomad kleptomaniac Gypsy boozer, and ol' Rotgut Bogey - regulars at the Gold Nugget Hotel and Saloon. I love these guys ;) Image and characters are copyright 2004 of Melissa 'Mel' Miller.
"FC Sequential - You Got Served" My favorite Full Circle work, quite possibley ever. This comic book sequential illustrates a scene in part 4 of the story, and, yeas, it's titled after that ridiculous new movie that's coming out. No relation, and I certainly don't plan on SEEING that vile thing, but the title was too amusing a fit to pass up ;) Image, Adrian and the wolves are copyright 2004 of Melissa 'Mel' Miller.
