Beyond drawing, I love to write stories about the characters, ideas and plots that I create, bringing my stories to life through words. Here are a few of those writing endeavors. All of the stories and characters here are copyright to Mel Miller 2002. Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (as featured in Full Circle) and all related characters from the show are copyright to Beth Sullivan and CBS. No profit is being made from their use. |
A fanfiction\art title based on Mel's fanaticism with the 'lovable' baddass barkeep Hank Lawson from the Dr Quinn Medicine Woman TV show. Set three years after where the TV show left off when canceled, Colorado Springs has unwittingly inherited a mysterious new townmember. The beautiful, cryptic, strong- |

willed ex-whore theif, Adrian, fighting to escape from a twisted, abusive past, with a vengeful murderer on her heals, runs straight into the life and leisure of Colorado Spring's most controversial character, Hank- a pairing that quickly becomes much more then either fire-cannon bar rat had ever bargained for. Chock full of original characters, gritty humor and traguc untertones of lives impaired by the 19th century fronteer, Full Circle focuses on one girl's determinaion to survive against the odds as well as the hardships faced as live as a Saloon Girl. Nightmare Whispers is Rated: R |
Part of the Kayo Origins series. The back story of Next X Comic's most disfunctional duo is finally revealed in 'Nightmare Whispers.' This gritty, no-holds -barred Origins story taps into the psychiatric counsiling sessions of Nexus's femme fetale Cheyenne LeBeau, Kayo, as she dives head long into the skeletons in her closet - mangled corpses compiled by the one and only socialpath Victor Creed, Sabretooth. Nightmare Whispers follows the Feral pair's first year together - as Kayo's connections with Creed go from bad to better to worse. As the taboo rises, the death count sores and the unwitting connections between Vic and Chey deepen, Nightmare Whispers is set to be a hellacious story that brings to light the truth - both good and bad - behind the lethal pairing of Vic and Chey. |

In the 1986 Academy Awards Best Picture feature film Platoon, the movie's most stand out character, Sgt. Elias, played by Willem Dafoe, was betrayed by a fellow Seargant from his own platoon, shot in cold blood and left for dead. The character's 'death' was no doubt the most memorable, dramatic scene in a film said to be the best Vietnam War film in movie history. Being the Dafoe fan and incredulous chronic writer that I am, I A) didn't want Elias dead, and B) wanted to write a fanfic for the movie and about the character's survival after his final scene in the film. Shades of Red is the result of that little ploit. Bare in mind that I'm not going for accuracey or even probability with this fic - its simpley for my own amusement. Writing for the sake of writing is ALWAYS a good thing, my friend. |
Kayo: Status Quo is Rated: PG-13 |
![]() |
Part of the Kayo Origins series. After a year spent on the heels of Victor Creed, Sabretooth, and a lifetime of trauma in the government mutant imprisonment camp known as Coercion, a 15 year old Kayo lands on the front doorstep of Xavier's School for Higher Learning, in search of a father she's never known. Her arrival sends shockwaves throughout the XMen, and her riotous, troubled spirit devides the team on whether or not she should stay. Packed with good and less then favorable humor and an equally original peek into the interworkins of the XMen, Kayo: Status Quo shows how Cheyenne LeBeau won her right to be considered an XMan. |
