This is a website devoted to the men of BLT Recon Plt. Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Formed as a platoon element in the months of January-July 2001. Then operationally committed to the BLT on 16 July 2001. As the events of 11 September 2001 unfolded our training schedule changed with more of a focus. Our brothers already deployed are carrying the torch in the region in question. We prepare rapidly to relieve them of their arduous duties in the Persian Gulf region. So that you may understand our jobs more here are some pictures and descriptions from the men who do it. We intend to keep our friends and families informed and in touch with our whereabouts as best we can or that can be allowed without detriment to the mission of those we are supporting. Through long hours of intense training, the Marines are honed to provide ground and urban reconnaissance and surviellance. The information that we send back gives the commanders of larger units the military intelligence used to make life saving decisions on where, when and how to employ their Marines and thus accomplish the mission of the United States Marine Corps and the Department of Defense. Please check out the 13th MEU website link on this page, since that is who we will be supporting on Operation Enduring Freedom.

22 June 2002 Well, as you know all good things must come to an end. We recently returned from our six and a half month tour overseas. It has been a learning experience for all of us and we will have that wisdom to take with us until the end of time. Bonds have been made that time will not break. There is a collection of pictures that are being put together in a power point presentation and will be given to your Marine. Sorry it wasn't ready before they came home on leave. I hope that you have enjoyed keeping an eye on your boys over the past months.

This is the Platoon during our Beach survey in the country of Oman. The gratuitous chest shot is common among our species. Each platoon that goes out usually does at least one. Something about the ego, I think.
