| Dad's are incredibly important people. Dr. Phil (yes, I'm a Dr. Phil fan!) says that the most important role model for a child is the same sexed parent. It's sad to think that there are so many Dads out there who aren't involved with their children. Little boys need that masculine influence in their lives and every little girl deserves a Daddy. If you are one of those Dads that are completely devoted to your children, then three cheers to you. Pat yourself on the back and know that you are making a powerful difference in your child's life. I really think our society downplays the roles of Dads. Moms are important people, but children need the active participation of both parents. In honour of all our Dads out there, I've made this page. Sorry if the background is a little girlie. I thought it was nice. | Racing To Win By Joe Gibbs My husband and I got this book at a NASCAR race in Richmond. We were lucky enough to even meet Coach Gibbs. He's an amazing man and the book is a great read. I haven't read it yet. My husband just finished so now it's my turn. Check it out. |

| Tip: Have you ever seen the Brawny paper towel commercial where the really good looking guy walks out of the kitchen with a birthday cake and puppy for "Mrs. Parker". Is this what Moms want? Nope! The good looking guy is pretty good, but the cake screams weight gain and the puppy screams cleaning up pee and poo on carpets everywhere. You want to get "Mrs. Parker" a birthday gift? Empty and load the dishwasher, get the kids bathed and in bed and then go away and let "Mrs. Parker" read a book in silence with a hot cup of tea! |
