- Introduction - WAs ships of exporation were being produced on a massive scale, the
Federation wasn't completely ready for the Dominion War which started in 2373. The Federation decided a more offensive position needed to be taken by Starfleet. New ships were designed, concentrating on weaponry and speed. Also, new starships and old were refitted with new warp cores so they would no longer cause damage to subspace. After the war, Starfleet made many improvments to there starships as the 24th century drew to a close...
