Frequently Asked Questions
What can I do at the Tri-State Baseball/Softball Academy?

At TSBA you have the opportunity to get better as a ball player.  You can
choose to do so by taking advantage of our individual lessons, team/group
rentals, or come on in with a friend or mom and dad.  If all you are looking
for is a place to keep your arm in shape during the winter come on in and
we will let you throw FREE of charge.

Do you really give FREE lessons?

Yes we do.  In order to receive your free lesson you can do one of two things.  Purchase a gift certificate for any occassion and you will receive a one half hour lesson totally FREE.  Also, for every person that you refer to The Academy, you will receive your next half hour lesson 50% off.  Essentially, every two people you refer will give you a FREE lesson.  Tell your friends!

Do I need to reserve time in the batting cages or pitching tunnels?

In order to take individual lessons, yes, you need to reserve a time.  We
will schedule you with an instructor for the day and time we have available.
To rent a cage or mound for yourself you can stop by and we will rent
based upon availability or you can schedule a time if you wish.

What type of lessons do you offer?

We offer pitching, hitting, and all defensive/catching lessons.  Our
instruction is position specific with an outfield specialist, infield specialist, as         well as catching specialist..  All of our lessons are one-on-one private                    instruction where you will get all of the instructor's attention.

How long does a lesson las
t?

All lessons are set up on in thirty minute sessions.  If you choose to take an
hour lesson this will reduce your cost and make it a little cheaper.  A lot of
our customers choose to hit and pitch or choose to take a defensive lesson            and we will schedule your lessons on back to back half hours so you dont             have to make two trips
.

How old do you have to be to take lessons?

Our lessons range anywhere from six or seven years old to seniors in high
school.  We usually base this on the child's attention span and coordination.           If a child has not developed their coordination yet, then a lesson would not            be beneficial.  Usually our ages start at seven years old.

Do I need to provide my own catcher for pitching lessons?

The Academy provides pitching screens so that catchers are not needed.
However you may bring a catcher if you prefer.  Occasionally, some of the           academy's customers choose to come in and tune their catching skills by
catching random pitchers
.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

Yes, in order to have a successful individual lesson you should bring your
own equipment.  The Academy has a few selected bats but we want our
students to feel as comfortable as possible when receiving instruction.
You may choose to use one of the Academy's bats but we cannot                         guarantee that they will be the correct weight or length for your child.
Baseballs, tees, etc will be provided.
