I know it doesn't get better than this !
My sweet little boy all solemm and proud
still managed to yell "Hi Mom" out loud
All the first graders with their little blue gowns
and all thru crowd is nary a frown
cameras flashing video's purring
thru the whole crowd everyone's stirring
Finally the grand moment arrives
across the stage with small little strides
they hand him his diploma curled in a roll
and all of a sudden I start to get cold !
I suddenly realize I gotta let go !
Let him grow up , let him run his show
and try so hard to forget getting old
,
But until the day arrives he's gone for good
I'll brace myself for the mother's I shoulds
I should have caught him before he fell
I should have not ever yelled
I should have seen the earing coming
I should have heard the song he's humming
I should have told him so much more
I should have faith in where he going
I should have faith with the bible he's towing
Have my faith in the Lord above
and forever trust in a mothers love
