We are very proud of our own boy Nato. One of 5 dogs and 6 bitches whelped in the Ubersein "E" litter, he was, we considered, the pick of the males. Pick male was promised to someone else, however, they didn't choose Nato! At 5 weeks of age, he was the boldest puppy, venturing all around the back yard with me at the heal position whilst I was pooper scooping. He frequently gazed up at me with a look that seemed to say "Can I be your dog?" I often think now what a stroke of luck it was that he didn't catch the eye of the person who had pick male!!! A utterly charming companion, he has done us proud both with his own achievements in the Show ring, and equally by those of his progeny.
Whilst he has only been used sparingly at Stud, the depth of quality in his progeny is outstanding. Visit them and others by clicking here.
A dog with extraordinary strength and determination (aptly nick-named by those who have had the "pleasure" of showing him as the "Pocket Rocket"), he is also an absolute character who wins the heart of any who have close contact with him.
It would be nice to have someone to thank for the absolute pleasure of Nato - maybe we should thank God! Perhaps too though there are some slightly less celestial beings whose input has been essential! Sue Basford, owner of Nato's sire Diesel. The Thornton family, owner of Nato's dam Reva (mother of so many wonderful Ubersein Progeny). John King and Ray Scells, owner of Reva's sire Dack. The list goes on ...
FLASH! Nato goes V1, Reserve Challenge and Australian Bred in Show under Catherine Thompson (USA) at the 2003 Rottweiler Club of Victoria Specialty Championship Show - handled to perfection as always by John Valk!
AND HE GOES ONE BETTER! V1, Challenge and BEST IN SHOW under Roberta Veale (Blackcombe Rottweilers, Australia) at the October 2003 Rottweiler Club of Victoria Specialty Championship Show - John Valk at the helm as usual! One of Roberta's comments "His bones are all in the right places". Roberta is one of many to recognise Nato's very correct construction. Nato is in his last year of Specialty Showing having achieved 14 V Ratings including five V1 Ratings - a pretty big achievement for a little guy!!! |
