GOD ISN'T DEAD

He Talks Through Music

I was talking to a friend last month about the purpose of life. Even though this friend of mine is a Christian, they weren't sure why they were here or if there even was a point to living life. I didn't really know how to answer this besides giving them the "live life to honor God and bring people to Him" line, which I didn't think was a full enough answer.

Anyways, after hanging up the phone with my friend, I prayed for God to give me some kind of answer to this person's question. Anything at all.

The next morning, I woke up to my alarm clock, which plays the radio. It was playing a song, and as I listened, I realized it was my answer. The chorus to the song, by Chris Tomlin, goes like this:

"You and I were made to worship,
You and I are called to love,
You and I are forgiven and free.
When you and I embrace surrender,
You and I choose to believe,
You and I will see how we were meant to be."

It's so clear in this song that when we worship God, when we delight in Him, we find out more about His will in our lives and that makes us free. We aren't bound by the lies that tell us our life is pointless. We do have a purpose, and we have to have faith in God.

I told this particular friend about what happened and they said it was just what they needed.

God dead? I think not.
