Karl Zingheim (museum historian, left), volunteer Rudy (center), and someone who's name I did not catch planning how the museum tours will be.

Flight deck looking towards Coronado.

The big 4-1.

Close shot of superstructure.
-Medical facilities-

The medical bay.

This small room was the ship's pharmacy.

Same room looking in the opposite direction.

One of the main operating rooms.
-Officer's Country-

This is one of two officer's messes. George Cagle, ship curator, can be seen at right.

The barber shop for officers. That's the nicest chair aboard the ship.

The second officer mess hall.
-other areas-

Laundry room.

I took this photo merely because it is the extreme front of the ship on the level I was on. The other side of the wall was outside air.
-Flight deck again-

A beautifully restored aircraft.

You don't realize how high up above the water the flight deck is until you stand on it.

South side of downtown San Diego.

Superstructure.

Another nice mast photo.

The bridge.

The bridge plus mast.
