My experience renting - Page 1
I've found renting my weeks a very easy task, at least once a renter shows interest.  I use the rental kit which I purchased through TST (TimeSharing Today).  The rental agreement form is a simple, easy form.  There have been no problems with the forms; it is mostly just a change of information stating renter and my information.  It results in my past renters having a wonderful vacation at a cost much lower than hotels.  A renter in the year 2000 said he does this every year-- rents a timeshare from an owner.  He'll never buy a timeshare and be burdened by monthly bills and a yearly maintenance but will find a ts owner who is renting their unit.  He gets great accomodations without the cost of owning, travels when and where he wants to go.  I can see how it does work for those who don't want to own.  We like owning-- without it, we wouldn't have made the yearly committment to travel.  But I can see how it works well for him.
If you are interested in renting one of our weeks, I will send you a rental form.  Most of it will already be filled out; it'll just need your info for address and such.  You can return the form with the rental cost (or an agreed upon deposit), keeping a copy for yourself.  When it's returned to me with deposit or full payment, we sign, make a copy, and send it back to you so that you have our signatures.  Once the complete fee is paid, I will contact the resort and change the reservation from our name to yours.  (I need at least a deposit to be sure you are truly interested in renting.  If the unit's week isn't for a few months, we can work out a deposit and later the final payment.)  Each resort handles renter confirmation a little different.  It all depends on the management company of the resorts.

See page 2 for individual resorts and how they handle the rental.

Note: If you wonder why we haven't rented a week for a certain year, it could be one of the following reasons:
1.  We used the week ourselves-- we do go on at least 4 vacations a year, sometimes 5.
2.  We did rent them out but people didn't want their names anywhere on the Internet so they did not want their statement added on my referral page.  I respect their requests.
3.  We spacebanked the week for deposit in a trading company.  One of the trading companies that we use wants the week NO LATER than 4 months prior.  So if you are thinking of a June, summer tourist week at Peppertree where our weeks are fixed weeks with the dates already assigned, we have to deposit them with this company in February and they are no longer ours to rent.  If you are thinking of going to the Wisconsin Dells in June, you should rent it by February.  The same for Cypress Pointe, which is why I sometimes book Christmas week there and then rent it out for those fixed dates, or give it to the exchange company in August.
4.  We have given a week to family.  We even gave a week to the son of a good friend for a wedding present.
