There is always sunshine

by Victor P. Gendrano
(For my wife Lucy)

There is always sunshine
Behind the darkened sky
Just waiting to give warmth
And joy to everyone.

For every frown we get
From other burdened hearts
There's plenty of smiles
Consoling previous hurts.

For every pain we bear
There are loved ones' concern
Whose cares, prayers and love
Our discomforts lessen.

There is enough sunshine
To share with everyone
If we but rid of doubt
Banish self-pity gone.

Dear Lord, Author of life
Help lighten our burden
Fortify our courage
To face each day, Amen!
