HISTORY

Mym Wooler reports that the Walton County Snowbirds were founded in 1989 when founder Francis Althiemer ran a newspaper ad
resulting in 90 charter members. Mym Wooler was the first secretary.

Members consist of retirees from northern cities who spend winter months in the beautiful Gulf Coast beach area of South Walton County on Florida's panhandle (Sandestin, Destin, Miramar Beach) known as the Emerald Coast. The Snowbirds provide organized and social activities for members such as golf, tennis, bowling, dancing, crafts, singing, games & cards, etc.

Regular meetings include musical entertainment, activities announcements, free prizes & gifts.

Membership cost is $5.00 (USD) per person.

Registration is 9:30 to 11:30 on most Tuesdays & Thursdays during November thru February at the Seascape Conference Center
