We need help! And, there are numerous opportunities within the Walton County Snowbirds. Below are a list of the various activities and events already organized. If you are interested in helping in a paticular area please call the contact indicated. In addition, there are opportunities within the Destin community itself. More information will be posted here as it is received.

Valued Visiting Volunteers

VOLUNTEERISM a great gift helping those in need and providing a sense of fulfillment for those offering their precious time.

The Snowbirds’ contributions of time and talents to the local Okaloosa & Walton communities are valued tremendously. Lending a hand and your expertise to help those in need is not new to any of us. Many already volunteer at home and while at their second home here in Okaloosa & Walton Counties. These efforts are applauded and very much appreciated.

Sometimes it is difficult to match individual volunteer desires with the needs of the community. V³ (Valued Visiting Volunteers) is a pilot program designed to assist in matching the desires of volunteers with the needs of the Okaloosa/Walton communities.

The Okaloosa/Walton United Way Organizations represent the many and diverse needs of our area. They touch all segments of our community; children to seniors, singles and families, homeless and home bound. They meet the needs of those at risk through medicine, mentoring and a variety of other ways – so many ways that can’t be easily communicated.
