21st century library media center can be the heart of the school because it is a high tech learning laboratory staffed by a high powered learning and technology consultant, the school library media specialist.  Together with technology facilitator we share the “vision for campus integration of technology and foster an environment and culture conducive to the realization of the vision. (TF-VIII)”

The posted artifact of “Newark Public School Technology Plan Review” gives the long range of planning on how and by what kind of time schedule we are going to do to meet the national and state standards for integrating technology in the school environment. With a solid knowledge on this vision, the technology facilitator and the media specialist work side by side taking the leadership on all phases of technology issues such as Lead in the development and evaluation of district technology planning and implementation, Discuss the history of technology use in schools, Conduct an evaluation of a school technology environment and issues related to developing a school technology plan. Such discussions are best reflected in artifacts listed below.

As it is indicated by Twomey, etc, “it is not enough for your candidate to write a vision statement or a long-range plan. You must demonstrate how candidates assist teachers. (p. 50)” A technology facilitator need “assist teachers in recognizing and addressing the use of assistive technology to provide accessibility to learning resources and familiarize teachers with assistive resources. (p. 50)” The artifact of “Turn-it-in on-line plagiarism prevention service administration”, including the teachers work shops, media cast posted on-line sample student orientation lesson, on-line one minute tutor and numerous of communication with teachers of the whole school are all aimed on provide teachers with the technology resources and helping teachers to familiarize them and use them effectively in their teaching practices.
