What Was New With the Wetband 2000-2003
Subject: Press Release
Date: October 18, 2000 11:25 AM
Reports indicate that final transfer of the now famous Play & Learn III
Sessions from master tapes source is complete...
In a brief communique to an almost empty room, producer Kenny B. Wetnick
hinted that transfer to CD format may not be possible at this time. He
refused to elaborate, but was heard mumbling something about 'if time grew
on trees', and so forth.
Asked if this might not dissappoint the fans, he simply laughed....
Otherwise, he appeared extremely happy with the results of the sessions on
tape, and enthused about the tracks being 'speaker-ready', and high volume
playback being 'recommended' , whatever he meant by that...
Mr. Wetnick also indicated the probability of the final product being
available in time for the much anticipated T-Fest 2000,
coming up early in November...
In an aside, he also mentioned that various of the cuts chosen for the
final album have been taking turns running through his head for some weeks,
now, todays evidently being 'If I Only Had A Mike', combined exquisitely
with something about 'Through These Crocodiles to You'.... yesterdays was
'It's A Mystery'....
The critics are falling all over themselves in praise of the new Wetband recording. Full of great new songs as well as covers and new versions of their older material.
They even venture into the jazz realm with their superb cover of "You Don't Know What Love Is". The new recording was released during the Wetband's annual Turkey Fest gig, where they played much of the new material and brought down the house. An emergency home renovation team has been dispatched to the scene.

Mr. Bassjangles: The Autobiography of Jethro Bassman As Told to Joe Dummer
Subject: Press release
Date: January 12, 2001
In a startling turn of events, the alleged Jethro Bassman (no relation to his Aunt Gloria) has stepped forward to endorse his autobiography, 'Mr. Bassjangles':
Hey, my autobiography is real. Has Joe Dummer lied to you before? I forgot to add that the name of my second group (with no instruments) was 'The Black Plague'. Could the Wet Master add this?
Thanks fans.

The Free Willy Movement:
Declassified CIA documents have come to light that reveal that the famous motel singer Willoughby Wet was forcibly abducted by illegal aliens, taken behind the Iron Curtain and brainwashed into believing he was Willie Nelson. The figures behind this heinous crime have been traced to a talent syndicate based in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan that was attempting to cash in on Willoughby Wet's similarity to the famed country singer. Wetband spokesperson Ray Brother had these comments on the revelations: "This would go a long way to filling in Willy's missing years. We can now see that there was a considerable time there when he was wandering around thinking he was Willie Nelson. They also believe he might have actually done some stadium gigs where not only he but everyone else as well thought he was Willie Nelson. Fortunately he did gradually regain his true identity, though he still signs his name: Willie."
In related news, a grassroots movement spearheaded by motel managers from coast to coast is gathering steam. Calling themselves the Free Willy Movement they are raising funds to send Willy back to Russia in order to complete his deprogramming.

Practfest 2001: A Resounding Success
The Annual Practfest hosted by (drumroll) Neil and Kim P. Ludwig was a resounding success, though early on almost erupted into a brawl when Willy B. went ahead and brazenly appropriated Woody's beloved musical sitting chair. Woody quickly recovered said chair and Willy B. learned a valuable lesson he would never forget. Kenny B. was volunteered to produce the live Practfest 2001 recording. The Practfest also turned out to be a release party for the Willy and Shirley B. Wet production of the Turkey Fest 2001 live recording: Slow Down the Squirrels, a two volume set which comes for a limited time only with real nuts (no not those involved) and a set of glittering squirrel stickers for use at the home or office:

Press Release: July 23/2001
Notorious Wetband producer Kenny B. Wetnick announced just hours ago that the Wetband splinter group West Wind Trio's latest recording has just been released. The famous cult trio apparently were in covert recording mode just days ago, putting down numerous tracks at an un-announced recording session at the Creditview Club. Nothing has been heard for years from the Trio, whose last recording was done in 1998, or the more well-known mother-band, The Wet Band. Rumours had been circulating that the WET Band, on hiatus since the Blues Festival 2001, may have packed it in. But the sudden enexpected release of a recording by the franchise's splinter band West Wind Trio has rocked the undergound rumour mill, taking The Wet Band off the hook for the moment. No trace of the Wet Band's annual Bluesfest recording for 2001 has been seen, fueling rumours of the band's demise.
Wetnick, as usual, would say little about the Trio's latest recording, and was contrite about the extremely brief interval between recording date and release of the finished product. He would only say that Kenny's vocal pickup was a touch too high, but that the recordings overall were very good quality, speaker-ready, etc. He would not elaborate about the content or theme inherent in the new album, but 'accidentally' allowed us access to the cover-art for the new recording.
Wetnick did say that he personally would like to dedicate the new recording to George Harrison, one of his all-time heroes.

Press Release: Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001; 4:24 pm
Today K.B. Wetnick announced the release of a brand new recording by two of
the founding members of the underground group, The WET Band. The eponymous
release, The WE Project, apparently features two B. Wets, Woody and Kenny,
reuniting as a duet so many years after their early teaming in the primordial
days before the WET Band was born. Although the recording sessions, done on
two separate sessions in September, were not held in much secrecy, no-one
noticed anyway, until Wetnick made his announcement just hours ago.
Wetnick denied that the sessions and recording were done to galvanize the WET
Band itself back into action, but did say that both Woody and Kenny voiced
the desire for the full band to get back into action soon. Both artists have
expressed enjoyment in working with each other again in a duet format, and
did not rule out the possibility of future recordings by The WE Project.
The recording features, among other things, several brilliant new tunes by
master tune-smith Woody, and some fascinating explorations into new vocal
territories by the duet. There has been no comment yet by the other two
members of The WET Band, Willy and Jethro, or the famed session drummer (and
third member of the WEST Wind Trio) Neil P. Ludwig, which is not too
surprising, as this is probably the first they've heard of it either...
Jethro has been on tour in the United Kingdom recently, and Willy also has
been busy with projects on the East Coast. Kenny B. Wet has since just
returned from NYC where he was on a promotional tour. K.B.Wetnick said in
closing that he was "very excited" with the recording, and that many fine
tunes are as yet unreleased due to space and other considerations.
Complimentary copies of the 60-minute recording were being made available to
the band as soon as possible. We have obtained a scan of the cover art for
the landmark recording:

Today Ray Brother announced the upcoming release of the long anticipated Wetband Bluesfest 2001 recording. The official release will take place at the upcoming Burton Turkey Fest. Notorious producer K. B. Wetnick announced today to no-one in particular, the
release of the newest WET Band recording, recorded only last weekend at the
Creditview Club. Critics, always on high alert, or lurking in the Bull
rushes, said this:
"It's done! Like dinner! Or should I say, like Breakfast!"
"Red Sky In The Morning, Sailor Better Take Warning"
"One of their best recordings ever... get it now!"
"10 thumbs Up!"
"They should definitely keep the recording engineer!!!...but get rid of the
album producer while you still can..."
"Is that sun rising?...or setting?!?! And who IS 'W.E. Ties' ??
Wetnick would only say that if anyone who gets the record can't stand the
cover art, he would gladly issue a 'White Album' replacement cover art
variant...but refused to apologize for the production values on the newest
release. Here is the sneak preview of the cover art:

Woody's Pain in the But
Well known Wetband singer/songwriter Woody B. Wet is under heavy sedation at an undisclosed location after finding out that famed Wetband Producer K. B. Wetnick had released a recording of one of his songs with the intro and first line cut off. Woody lamented, " This faux pas has my song starting with a 'but' and
I never start ANYTHING with a BUT. But Wetnick is going to get
HIS BUTT KICKED TO KINGDOM COME if I ever catch up with him."
The song in question is on the latest WE Project recording:
"In the We Hours". Woody B. began rushing around to record
stores to buy up copies, but soon gave up due to lack of funds
and sanity.
Sources close to Wetnick say that the famed producer had
intended to fade in behind Woody's but, but ran into technical
difficulties.

Press Release: Thursday, June 13, 2002 10:40 pm
A group of suspicious characters were arrested on the grounds of the Willoughby Wette Mansion after local police observed them inside the outbuilding known as "Little Brown" making strange noises and surrounded by pipes and duct tape. A police spokesman said that the group were under suspicion of attempting to set up a distillery without a license. Local police were appalled to discover that they had in fact broken up a recording session of the legendary Wetband. In order to make amends the interview rooms at local police headquarters were quickly converted into a makeshift recording studio. Holding cells were provided for overnight accomodation, and Willie B. Wet noted that they were better than many motel rooms he had been in. The Wetband were able to complete their recording session and release their new album: Music From Little Brown.
One of the highlights of the session was the Wetband rendition of their famous song Little Brown. The Wetband were eventually released on bail pending their trial later this year on the reduced charges of trespassing, desecration of private property, disturbing the peace and unlawful possession of dangerous didgeridoos with intent to blow.

The Wetband on CD!!!
Reviews and reactions have been pouring in since the surprise release of the Wetband's most recent studio recording, Music From Little Brown, last weekend at the Oakville Recreational Complex & Home For Wayward Cats. The milestone
recording, which represents the first time ever that The Wetband proper has appeared alone on CD, was done June 1, 2002, at the now legendary 'Little Brown' recording studio in Mississauga. The sessions were the 4th installment in the famous Play & Learn series of studio efforts by the band.
Some things that have been said so far:
"The Wetband has more dimensions than Doctor Who's tardis....inside & out, a thoroughly amazing exploration into time, space, and sound... "
"Willie's vocals have never sounded richer and more authentic than on his new takes on blues standards...keep the mic close to this guy!"
"That Woody B. Wet can so deftly squeeze the utmost sensitivity out of his new original tunes on acoustic guitar, and then switch effortlessly to roaring, soaring blues rockers on his gleaming black electric axe, is truly breath-taking"
"Jethro Bassman's bang-on bass riffs, combined with his great new original tunes and still emerging powerhouse vocal talents, proves once again that he is the extra dimension that makes this band special..."
"Bassman has more moves than Sherlock Holmes, as he tracks down the mysterys of convergent meaning."
"Digitized Didjeridoo-ing! If this is a sign of things to come, let the
future get here NOW!!!"
"'... Just Smiled' is a triumph for Willie B."
"It's good that Kenny has finally reappeared with a few new tunes....long overdue... where has this guy been? Like before, his band mates really make his songs work...the intricate guitar solos from Woody, the solid rhythm guitar from Willie, Jethro's bass line steady and driving, powering the whole thing, and especially the combined vocal accompanyment from the whole group.
Hopefully Kenny B knows why his tunes turned out so well at Little Brown."
"Sound quality is way up on this one, although we could use a little more of Woody's voice, and a little less of Kenny's. A proper CD booklet wouldn't hurt this high-end effort, either."
Press Release: Friday, June 21, 2002 First Day of Summer 11:17 a.m.
Wet Note Records, along with representatives for Wet Songs Music, today announced that the long-awaited and much anticipated solo CD by Ted Burton was released last night to a small and intimate gathering on the Oakville-Mississauga border.
The CD, featuring a collection of the great original songs by the renowned bass player from The Wetband, is titled, 'Run And Hide', and is already garnering glowing reviews from critics everywhere, and is beginning what looks to be a rapid ascent to the top of the Wetboard charts.
It hits the shelves today, and represents a milestone recording for the Wetband and all it's fans. A spokesperson said also that the CD contains not only the best recordings of Mr. Burton's greatest hits, but several fascinating rarities, recently unearthed from archival material from the earlier years of this prolific singer/songwriter. The solo debut is sprinkled with a number of stunning 'live' performances which compliment the achievements of the studio works, giving the recording the feel of a classic.
A spokesperson for Wet Note records said that the label is "proud and indeed fortunate in it's association with Mr. Burton, and to have been able to present his work on a Wet Note CD is a privilege".
Rumours are circulating that a Release party, honouring all the recent Wetband- related releases in CD format, as well as the music and history of the Wetband, is in the works.
Congratulations to Ted!!!
Press Release: Thursday, July 4, 2002 1:00 pm
Wet Note Records in association with Wetsongs Music is pleased to announce the release today of the re-issue of the classic Woody B. Wet recording, 'W.W.I'.
The release in CD format of this landmark work became possible only recently, when the original master tapes were unearthed from Wetband discographer and singer/songwriter/videographer Jethro Bassman's private collection. Mr. Bassman was present at the July 7, 1985 recording session at a remote studio in the woods, and is rumoured to have been responsible for engineering the
now-famous recording. Wet Note is considering a series, to be titled 'The Bassman Tapes', but further details will be released later.
Wet Note gratefully acknowledges Mr. Bassman's permission and assistance in this project.
W.W.I is considered to be the very first 'solo' release by anyone from The Wetband, and is an extremely rare recorded glimpse into the earlier solo genesis of Wetband co-founder Woody B Wet. Once one of the most sought-after bootlegs ever, W.W.I is now available again almost 17 years to the day after it was recorded.
The new re-issue contains the entire original recording session, slightly remastered to remove some recording process sounds, and includes 3 previously un-released bonus tracks, recorded several years later by Mr. Wet himself.
Every effort has been made to retain the original sound and ambient quality of the original recording, and Wet Note is proud to be able to re-introduce this classic to the light of a 'Clear Day'.
Press Release: Monday, July 22, 2002
A new record company founded by Jethro Bassman and Benny Cooper was
announced on Saturday at a party in Guelph. The company, Wet Bass Records
will be focusing on new compilations of older material but may also become
involved in newer recordings. When asked if he was in competition with Wet
Note, Mr. Cooper replied that he didn't see it that way. He was just making
recordings that the fans want and fulfilling a niche. Besides Wet Note is a
digital company and Wet Bass is strictly analogical. "We're also trying to
make a quick buck," added Mr. Bassman. Their first release is expected
shortly.
Another Press Release: Monday, July 22, 2002
Wet Bass Records today announced the release of their first recording by the
famous group - The Wetband. The album is modestly called, "Wet Replay: Their
Greatest Hits." This 90-minute analogue recording is just chock full of hits
announced the president of Wet Bass Records, Mr. Benny Cooper. The following
description from the liner notes by Ted Burton (the famed musicologist)
explains it all said Mr. Cooper.
So is this really 'Their Greatest Hits'? No, not really. You may think it's
subjective, but there were specific laws in mind that helped structure this
compilation. Here are the rules for inclusion of a song:
1. Play and Learn session songs only
2. Original material only (goodbye P&L I)
3. If 2 versions, select the first one
4. Use normal vocalist cycle (sort of)
5. A fan favourite song
6. Totally subjective
So that means, we don't necessarily have the best songs or even the best
recordings of a song. But I still think it makes a great collection and it's
the compilation that I always wanted. So sit back and enjoy. PLAY LOUD!!
A copy of the album cover art was also released:
This album is not to be confused with the comprehensive 'Best Of" package being developed by WetNote."It's just a quick release to make a quick buck - I mean satisfy the fans," said spokesperson J. Bassman. "It's not meant to be a Best of package
at all. I means what does 'hits' got to do with quality."
Order your copy now.

Wet Note & Wet Bass records minutes ago announced the latest CD release from
their most famous artists, The Wetband. The brand new release, 'The Wetband -
Wet Replay: Their Greatest Hits Volume 2' follows closely on the heals of
the release last Saturday night of Wet Replay Volume 1, at the premiere of
Club Wet Note. Volume 2, like it's predecessor, is also the brain child of
Wet Bass Records, and co-produced in CD format by Wet Note Records. Thanks

Kenny B. Wet, Wetband member and co-producer, and Eric Dennis, Wet Note
president and CD producer, are both very excited that so many of the great
original songs from the famous 'Play & Learn' sessions have found their way
into the 'Greatest Hits' package.
Mr. Dennis noted just days ago that Wet Replay: Their Greatest Hits Volume 1

have done an incredible job on this. We hope that the further collaboration
between Wet Bass and Wet Note, as manifested in this superb second volume, is

Press Release November 1, 2002 8:00 PM EST
In a highly unusual move, Wet Note Records today announced, in addition to
the two other brand new CDs, the imminent release in analog format of the
extremely rare original tape of Eric Dennis's 'Falling From Formation'.
Apparently the original tape was re-discovered at the grand opening Saturday
evening of Club Wet Note, during the CD Release party which was held there to
celebrate the Wetband's 20th anniversary year.
Rumour has it that this original tape version of the now famous CD by the
same name is quite different in content, with several different versions of
some of the original tunes, many performed live. The tape appears to have
fewer tracks, but is considered highly rare because there were only two
copies ever made. It is assumed that the tape unearthed Saturday night is the
original master, but this remains unclear. Mr. Dennis, along with Kenny B.
Wet and Wet Note Records, has decided to offer it for release to the other
three band members. Mr. Dennis declined to comment further on the whereabouts
of the other original copy.
Wet Note had indicated that the new copies of the tape will be virtually
identical to the original, with no attempt to add Wet Note brand logos. "We'd
like this to be a very faithful reproduction of the original", a spokesman
said.
Wet Note provided this image of the original analog cover:

The Mystery of the Disappearing Woody
Jethro Bassman, the famed musicologist and member of Canada's best known
troglodyte blues-rock-country-folk band, reports (in a rare interview) that
the case of the 'Missing Woody' is getting stranger by the minute. He
informed the media yesterday that Woody's vocals had mysteriously
disappeared from the master tapes of the latest Wetband recording session
held Saturday night at the Credit View Croquet Club. This morning, he
reports further and more frightening news. Woody's songs are nowhere to be
found on the second master tape. The only presence of Woody is his take on
Jethro's take of the Bob Dylan classic 'I'll Be Your Baby Tonight'. "It's
the damnest thing I ever heard," exclaims Jethro. "Either Woody's been in
one of those weird Transporter accidents and his molecules are starting to
dissipate or else Big Brother is trying to erase every proof of the
existence of Woody from the planet." When asked to further elaborate, Jethro
replied "Don't ask me, I'm a bass player not a detective". Other Wetband
members were not available for comment. The band's manager Ray Brother only
mumbled something that sounded like "Woody probably had magnets in his
mouth". Experts have been called to investigate this strange incident
further. "But the other songs are great!," added Jethro. "The fans will be
pleased. We're probably call the album "Has Anybody Heard From Woody?'" Stay
tuned for further developments.

chords) are the first thing to disappear. Curiouser and curiouser.

And Deepens...
Earlier today, Crow7, Wetband member Kenny B's agent and manager, issued a
terse statement in reaction to Jethro's news conference: Kenny B is shocked
and dismayed by the electronic disappearance of the Woodster from the recent
Creditview Club recording sessions. As executive producer and CEO of Wet Note
Records, he suggests that the Transporter accident theory is the strongest
issued so far in the investigation, but as a number 2 theory his gut tells
him that the problem lies in the 4-track recording deck used to channel 4
mics into 2 tracks. This would seem to be the only mechanism (other than the
transporter) capable of such a degree of separation from the other recorded
sounds. If true, not good news for Woody, but an intermittent cable wouldn't
have produced the results we did get, whereas an internal 1/2 track cutout
might be responsible for this mystery.
"I'm a harmonica player, not a doctor", was the last comment heard from Kenny
B this morning.

And Gets Murkier...
Wetband General Manager Ray Brother, hounded by the press, finally released his version
of the events:
I was crouched down out back, watching the recording session through the basement window when I noticed some movement on the grassy knoll behind me. Someone or some thing was there, holding something or someone. I saw a blinding flash of light. The bottle dropped from my hand. The next thing I knew I was in the hospital with a mouth full of magnets and surrounded by hideous, bottom-feeding press creatures.
Press Release February 4, 2003 3:11 PM EST
Hardheaded Paralegal Analyst Buzz Sawyer provides an incisive in-depth commentary on the Ray Brother testimony:
First off, this testimony doesn't hold water since the bottle apparently broke upon impact with the frozen ground and never apparently had any water in it to begin with, but something much stronger. Next, we must ask why the band manager was crouching outside in back, watching the session through the basement window. And what happened to this so-called "grassy knoll'? My agents have scoured the countryside all around the Creditview Club and have found no knoll anywhere, grassy or otherwise. And if he was indeed watching the recording session through the window how could he see movement behind him? Could the blinding flash of light have been nothing more than a flash bulb? And what exactly happened between the time that the alleged Ray Brother passed out and the time he awoke in hospital? We have reason to believe that we are not talking minutes or even hours here but days. Could he have been flown to Russia and brainwashed into only believing he was Ray Brother, so that as the brainwashing wore off he would begin to suspect that he was not Ray Brother at all, but someone totally different? A Ray Brother manque? OR EVEN WOODY HIMSELF? Fearful of the consequences of his actions, could he have taken the master tapes and knowingly erased all evidence of Woody at this session so that everyone would believe it was not in fact him, Ray Brother, outside the basement window, but in fact Woody B. Wet? And with Woody B. Wet now firmly accused of being the backyard interloper, could he not accuse himself of sneaking up and photographing Woody B. Wet in the act of peeping in the basement window? And might not Woody, passing out in fright upon being surprised, have also been taken to Russia and brainwashed into thinking he was in fact Ray Brother, so that the real Ray Brother could in fact have been IN THE HOSPITAL ALL THE TIME? These are just a few of the unanswered questions that we must continually ask ourselves as we begin to calmly and rationally piece together the events of that night, just like the pieces of broken bottle that were not in fact found outside the basement window, but in the hospital where such beverages are not permitted and are indeed strictly unlawful?
Press Release Thursday, March 6, 2003 5:32 pm
Wet Note Records today proudly announced their first release of 2003, the
newest by their premier recording artists, Canada's best-known Troglodyte
Blues/Folk-Rock/Folk/Country/Easy-Listening act, The Wetband.
Recorded this past February at the famous underground venue, The Creditview
Club, in Mississauga, the newest album documents the latest annual studio
PractFest sessions of the band's long-term collaboration with one of their
favourite session drummers, the amazing Neil P. Ludwig.
Adding to the still-swirling controversy surrounding the apparent transparent
'disappearance' of Wetband frontman Woody B. Wet from much of the recording
session's master tapes, is the suggestion by unnamed sources that the
infamous Wet Note co-founder and Wetband producer K. B. Wetnick, reported
missing last year, is actually still alive and hiding in the remote
mountainous regions dividing Mississauga, Oakville, Bronte Creek and the
Credit River.
The suggestion has been insinuated because of the sub-title of the Wetband's
newest release, 'The "Missing Man" Quintet'. Wet Note executive Kenny B. Wet
denied any knowledge of any facts which might support the rumour. He seemed
to become quite agitated when a member of the reviewing press gallery asked
if it was possible that the missing vocals and guitar tracks from PractFest
'03 had any connection with the rumoured sightings of Wetnick.
'Why don't you ask that old bag of dirt Ray Brother', he was quoted as
saying, moments after he thought the microphones were turned off and he
thought he was off-the-record.
The Wet Note CEO also spent some time defending the fact that the new
recording, the band's first in nearly half a year, is issued on tape only,
and insisted it had nothing to do with rival label Wet Bass's soaring
popularity and dollar figures in the previous quarter. "We've had a few
lay-offs'" he noted ruefully, '"but this has not been a contributing factor
in the decision to go with the historically successful retro-packaging on
analog for this release".
Hustled away through the crush to his limousine, he avoided any further
comment.
Industry insiders say, however, that despite the controversys surrounding the
Wetband at the moment, the recording has some great stuff on it. One can only
wonder what it would have been, with Woody B. Wet's full vocals and acoustic
guitar in their rightful spot on the record.

Earlier today Wet Note Records finally released an image of the cover of the
newest Wetband recording, after having it's official release confirmed by The
Wetband. The first-ever true double-album by the band is currently getting
a lot of air time on local airwaves that matter. Reports have it that band member
Willy B. Wet is out of town on a trailor-park tour, and has not been available
for comment. Reviews so far have all been glowing, and some feel that this is
the ultimate Wetband recording. Here is the triumphant cover for the new
release:

Got Their Wojo Workin'?
Although there has been no official announcement, the word on the street is
that there has been a new Wetband splinter group formed and they have a new
album in the can.
Two of the Wetband founding members, Woody B. Wet and
Jethro Bassman, were seen going into the Burton-Oakville Recreational
Complex and Home for Wayward Cats with a load of instruments and recording
equipment this Saturday, July 5th. This is the same studio the Wetband last
used for the critically acclaimed Shut Up! And Tune Me sessions.
The rumoured name of their group is Wojo. There have been no stories on the
album name but a few details of the songs recorded have become available.
All songs are said to be original material. Woody apparently played at least
a half-dozen new songs, one song from the never released Wet Work bootleg
sessions, and two legendary Woody masterworks from his W.W I days. Jethro introduced
5 new compositions (continuing his recent surprising productive period) and
finally played the most famous Jethro song never heard: Catholic Girls.
This song was written for the Play and Learn V sessions but was never
recorded for reasons only beknownst to Jethro. Also it is rumoured that Wojo
performed a re-make of the Et Tu song Life and Death. Speaking of that
song, which was a collaboration between Jethro and that old sixties poet Ted
Burton, we heard that one of Jethro's new songs was another Burton-Bassman
effort.
At this point we are not sure how much of this story is true and
where the leak came from. When we reached Jethro Bassman to ask where this
Wet leak was, he merely replied, "Up the stairs, first door on the left?"
Speaking of leaks, Wetband fans will be glad to hear that Woody has once
more donned his harmonica holder and was even heard to be playing while in
the washroom! A reliable source also states that Jethro has already had
preliminary talks with an executive from Wet Note Records about releasing
this new Wojo album. They were seen at a secretive meeting at a downtown
Toronto bar last week.
Please stay tuned and we will update you on this
exciting news as more details become available.

MORE WOJO NEWS!
We have just learned that Wojo's new album will just be called WOJO. I
guess they ran out of new ideas. Also, we found this scrap of paper while
rummaging through the garbage cans of the Burton-Oakville Recreational
Complex and Home for Wayward Cats. Neither Jethro nor Woody were available
to comment on it's validity:

AND YET MORE WOJO NEWS!
Wet Note is proud to announce the forthcoming release tomorrow, August 1st,
of the splendid debut recording by WOJO, the newest Wetband splinter group.
Comprised of Jethro Bassman and Woody B. Wet, Wojo's eponymously named album was
recorded July 5 at the Burton Oakville Recreational Complex and Home For
Wayward Cats. Featuring all-original material by both it's members, the CD is
perfectly balanced between superb performances of great songs, and carefully
understated production values. Wojo has raised the bar at least several notches once
again. Wet Note is pleased to introduce (with apologies to the late Ted
Williams) the 'Splendid Splinter', WOJO!!!

Press Release for Thursday, August 7, 2003 Club Wet Note
is proud to announce the pending release this coming weekend
of Wetband co-founder Jethro Bassman's excellent second solo album: Murder
In Texas.
The CD is currently in post-production at Wet Note Studios, Club Wet Note, a
reclusive hideaway somewhere in the remote mountainous regions of the
Oakville-Mississauga border.
The compilation CD is a stunning followup to Mr. Bassman's initial great solo
effort, the famous Run and Hide. More details of the album will be released
after it's official release and delivery this coming Sunday.
A further rumour is circulating that a hitherto unknown and recent solo
recording by band member and co-co-founder 'Coca' Kenny B. Wet was quietly released
on the same day as the fabulous self-titled CD by WOJO. Mr. Wet has denied
any press competition with Wojo, and stated that "the damn thing just happened
to get finished the day before". The title has been leaked to the media, and
sources now say that it has appeared in the Wetband's official discography as
Long Echoes. It joins WOJO and Murder In Texas, forming an amazing troika that have appeared since The Wetband double CD was released.
Queried about several other mysterious titles now appearing in the
Discography, Kenny B. Wet was evasive, and mumbled something about Wet Note shutting
down temporarily for a late summer vacation for all it's staff.
Hail the newest Wet Note CD, Murder In Texas! Jethro Bassman rules!!!
Stay tuned for further details as they become available.
Press Release for Tuesday, August 19, 2003
Wet Note is pleased to reveal the cover art for the great new release by
Wetband co-founder Jethro Bassman, Murder In Texas. The new album has already been on shelves for several days, following it's official release on Sunday,
August 10, 2003, at Club Wet Note.
This morning, Wet Note spokesman and producer Kenny B. Wet declined to add
much more detail, further to the press release of August 7th, other than to say
this:
"Murder In Texas is one of the great recordings by a member of the Wetband
and in music in general. If you want to know why, go get a copy and listen!
The album speaks for itself! Jethro Bassman is my hero."
Here is the cover of Murder In Texas:
Further Press Release for Tuesday, August 19, 2003
Wet Note wishes to confirm that the rumoured Kenny B. Wet solo recording has
in fact been released, and that the title is indeed Long Echoes. Apparently
Mr. Wet is insisting that it is more of 'an old poetry experiment' than a new
music CD, although this, it would seem, is debatable. A spokesperson for Wet
Note was overheard saying that 'I certainly wouldn't accuse this effort of
being over-produced'. Wet Note offered this image of the new album's cover:
Press Release: 12:08 am EST Oct. 4th, 2003
Earlier today a spokeperson for Wet Note Records issued a short statement covering several Wetband related items:
1. Apparently several rare and hitherto unknown photos of the legendary Play & Learn
V recording session of the Wetband have been discovered in an unlocked vault
deep beneath Wet Note Studios at Club Wet Note. The images appear to show the very beginning of the famous recording session which eventually produced the double album CD release, 'The Wetband', from May 31 2003. Although there were rumours around this time that a documentary film entitled 'Let It Be WET' might be in the works, no trace of it has been discovered to date. The few photos discovered in the vault appear to be the only visual documentation extant of the now classic sessions. See them on display at Kenny's Wetband Studio Gallery.
2. Since the departure of the beloved Suze Melbourne back to Down Under, there has been a demand for more photos from the Club Wet Note CD release party where she made her first North American appearance almost a year ago today. Wet Note is endevouring to locate and re-publish the famous photo of Jethro Bassman with his famous fan and co-star, along with other long-lost images from the party. Stay tuned for more news on this front.
3. In other Wetband related news, rumours of a new WE Project recording session have surfaced recently. Wet Note today responded by announcing the surprise release of The WE Project's third album, apparently recorded for the most part on Sept. 17th of this year, at the legendary Another Room Studio in Ajax, where the seminal Songs From Another Room recordings took place so many years ago. The new album is rumoured to be the first in a series of documentary type recordings, which will trace the evolution of the WE Project's all-instrumental development, through experimental recordings and alternate musical forms. Wet Note is proud to release the cover of this daring release:
