situated in Madhya Pradesh and the home to the famous White Tigers of
Rewa. White Tiger is a rare animal to watch which is possible in
Bandhavgarh National Park. The park was a former hunting reserve of
the royal family of Rewa. Bandhavgarh National Park was declared a
national park in 1968. This place is steep and rocky and contains flat
tops and level grasslands in the valleys below. Several fine Sal trees
and stretches of bamboo are found in the forest of this national park. Some of the major attractions near
Bandhavgarh National Park which attract visitors very much are
Archaeological Remains of the Kalchuri period. Bandhavgarh Fort is
also a prime attraction near this park which is believed to be over
2000 years old. The Fort has a large number of caves belonging to the
pre-historic period. One more attraction near Bandhavgarh National
Park is Baghela Museum. This museum houses the private collection of
the maharajah of Rewa and a unique collection of military weapons. |
