What is Weight Loss Surgery?
Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) is a medical procedure used as a tool to assist in the treatment of Obesity.  There are numerous types of surgical procedures that have been developed in the last thirty or so years that are intended to result in weight loss.  Some have more risk than others, but everyone should understand that there ARE serious risks involved, and the decision to have WLS should be taken very seriously.

WHO QUALIFIES FOR WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY?
Anyone with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or more, are 100 or more pounds overweight, or have a BMI of 35 or more and have medical conditions directly related to their weight.
