Morbid Obesity... Could they have come up with a worse sounding term for that? Although there are numerous ways to say it, morbid obesity does not just mean fat, chunky, thick, big boned, husky, big, plump, heavy, large, portly, stout, corpulent, sizable, rubinesque, or just plain overweight. Morbid obesity is a situation that arises when a person's abundance of fat tissue creates or has the probability of creating other health risks or conditions. These conditions are known as Comorbidities.
Generally, a person is considered to be Morbidly Obese if they are 100 or more pounds over their ideal bodyweight (IBW). A more exact and accepted definition is to use Body Mass Index (BMI). An individuals BMI is defined as:
BMI=Weight (in KG)/height (in Meters squared)
