WHO ARE WE?
West Midlands Animal Action is made up of compassionate people from a cross section of society. Like you, we are just ordinary members of the public who strongly oppose all forms of animal cruelty and we campaign in various ways to create awareness and help bring the suffering to an end.
Sadly animal abuse is all around us in many different forms and many millions of animals suffer and die every day for no real reason. Thanks to a growing movement across this country and the world, significant progress is being made in the struggle for animal rights.
We organise, take part in & publicise peaceful demonstrations, leafletting & other events across the West Midlands area. We work closely with other local groups and national groups in order to be more effective. We often travel to larger events around the country. Demos vary enormously, there`s something to suit everyone. Anything from half a dozen people leafletting outside McDonalds to 1,000 anti-vivisectionists marching through Cambridge. Coach and minibus transport is often organised to a variety of events.

Many people involved with animal rights in the West Midlands are unable to attend demos etc due to family/work commitments but they help us and the animals in other ways. Some help by displaying posters at work, distributing leaflets, sending us information, writing to the papers etc. See the page What can i do? Others help by donating towards the cost of printing leaflets, organising demos etc. Everyone can help in some way.

This website was created in November 2003 with one main purpose, simply to encourage compassionate people to do what they can to help animals. We aim to bring together lots of information in one place, so that you find all you need to get started in stopping suffering.

GO VEGGIE
West Midlands Animal Action strongly promotes the veggie and vegan diets as the most important thing anyone can do to stop animal cruelty. And as a bonus you will become healthier and help stop the pollution and destruction of our environment.

West Midlands activists have been involved in many successful campaigns over the years. We regularly travelled to demonstrations against the beagle breeders Consort in Herefordshire and Hillgrove cat farm near Oxford. Both of these bred animals to sell to vivisection labs but were closed down by protests. More locally, we stopped the export of live animals from Coventry airport.
