Oxford Students (Home) 22nd February 2003 3-0 Score:25-16, 25-15, 25-18 A very easy match for the Wolverhampton team, Oxford were never allowed to get into the match and their unforced errors became more numerous set by set as the game progressed. Despite the presence of Kai Nagashima who is currently leading the Player of the Year charts, Oxford could find no answer especially to the powerful lines shots of Vanessa Malone. Good service pressure from Sally Jones and Kerri Olding meant Oxford struggled to build up attacks, although their ability to find the space behind the block certainly improved as they pushed Wolverhampton more in the third set. However it was not to be for the students and the COWS eased into yet another 3-0 win.
Squad: Sally Jones, Vanessa Malone, Mo Glover, Donna Bowler, Jenna Taylor, Kerri Olding, Karen Betts, Stephanie Cooper, Ruth Olding
Warwick Riga (Home) 15th February 2003 3-0 Score: 25-20, 25-22, 25-9 Wolverhampton are THE team in form in the National League. We are now in second place in W2 with two games in hand over all other teams in the top five.
Devon (Away) CUP MATCH 9th February 2003 3-0 Score: 25-13, 25-17, 25-19

City Of Salford (Home) 8th February 2003 3-0 Score?: 25-17, 25-14, 25-17 City Of Salford are in second position in Division Two and this match provided a chance for Wolverhampton to show that their current league position of 5th is only down to a lack of games. No team in Division Two has as yet come anywhere near close to our hitting power, especially since the introduction of new players Mo Glover, Jenna Taylor and Joanne Powell.. A good libero from City of Salford was constantly caught out by a wide range of angled hits, mostly coming from Vanessa Malone! Every area of play was good, leaving only serving as a potential traget for next weeks training. Yet again there was a large squad, something rare last year but becoming expected this season. Substitutions were made but Wolverhampton never lost momentum and won easily in three sets. Next match Warwick Riga on the 15th February.
Squad: Karen Betts, Donna Bowler, Steph Cooper, Mo Glover, Kelli Hibbs, Sally Jones, Vanessa Malone, Val Melville, Kerri Olding, Joanne Powell, Kate Rothery, Jenna Taylor
Cleobury (Home) 25th January 2003 3-0 Score: 25-13, 25-14, 25-14 As obvious by the score this was a relatively straightforward win which allowed coach Clayton Lucas to try out new line ups and give some of the substitutes a good chance in a match situation to show what they can do. A strong (and large!) squad is always important in National League Volleyball. There were no particulary outstanding individual performances although some of the attacks set up by setter Donna Bowler had Cleobury guessing until the ball hit the floor. This match begins a long run of matches every weekend including Chelmsford away next weekend and Devon away the following sunday in the cup. Wolverhampton now in 6th place are looking to continue their eight match winning streak and by next weekend will hopefully be in the semi finals of the cup AND have reached a slightly more respectable 5th place in the league!
Squad: Karen Betts, Donna Bowler, Steph Cooper, Kelli Hibbs, Vanessa Malone, Val Melville, Kerri Olding, Joanne Powell, Kate Rothery, Jenna Taylor
