The single holds the record for longest time in the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100.It spent thirt-three weeks in the top ten. It dominated rock charts for over a year! "Godsmack" went platinum. The album has the song that made them famous, to boost them onto radio "Keep Away." Also from the album was the bands third hit "Voodoo." The album "Godsmack" was pulled out of Wall-Mart and K-Mart stores due to it's lyrical content. Godsmack even participated in Ozz-Fest 99. Slipknot, Slayer, hed [pe], Black Sabbath, Fear Factory, System Of A Down, The Deftones, Rob Zombie, Primus, Static-X, Flashpoint, Drain STH, Apartment 26, and Push Monkey particpated with Godsmack. Three years after "Godsmack" came out, Godsmack released "Awake." The album got massive results. Songs were pulled off the album for extreme sports shows and documentries, soundtracks, and more. "It's Going Down" is a Alice In Chains like-tune that wasn't released but picked up results. An insturmental flavour to the album "Vampires" was nominated for a Grammy for Best Instrumental Rock Preformance. The first single from the album was "Awake." The song was the #2 single off the year on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. It did very well on that and the Billboard Modern Rock chart. It was nominated for Best Hard Rock Preformance, and Best Rock at the Grammys but was shut out. Godsmack then started recording again. During the process long-time drummer Tommy Steward left the band. In 2003 Godsmack returned with thier new album "Faceless." It was originally titled "Releasing The Demons." That was scraped and became a song on the album. "I Stand Alone" also appears on the album. The second single from the album was "Straight Out Of Line."
