The files below are some of the Excel files that I have created. You can freely download them. The last three files are Zip files i.e. compressed. You will need to download the WinZip program. If you have a problem in downloading the zip files please contact me and you will receive them by e-mail in the normal Excel form.

Template.xls (55 KB)

To download this file you can either click on the link to open it inside your browser or right click and select "Save Target as" to save it in the hard disk. The file illustrates the basic principles of creating template files with particular attention on error reduction. In the first page there is a short tutorial, which explain these principles and show how these are applied in practice. This is done by referring to the examples that are found in the other pages of the workbook. Topics that are illustrated include the principles of Databases, the Form Toolbar, Data Validation, Conditional Formatting,  Names, and Protection.  The tutorial is simple but includes a number of useful topics.

Timesheet.zip (16 KB)

This workbook illustrates how to work with times. It contains a worksheet that calculates the normal and overtime hours of workers and it can be used in companies that their employees are paid on an hourly basis.

Accpro.zip (256 KB)

This file is in effect an accounting program that I have created to demonstrate the power of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) i.e. Macros. It is a very advanced Excel workbook, which uses about 4,000 lines of codes in VBA. This accounting program is appropriate for small companies although it has not yet put in practice. You can use the program to post transaction and make accounting reports such as Trial Balance and Statement of Account. If this is the first time you open a file with macros, you should read a brief Note on Macros. Note also that this program is provided without guarantees as to its performance. If you do find a fault, please let me know.

Convertor.zip (19 KB)

I have created this Add-In because many users ask for a function to convert the numbers into words. This Add-In adds a new function to Excel called  INWORDS. This function converts for example the number 141 into "one hundred forty one".  Greek conversion is also possible. To see how it works see the Help Note. You should also read the Note on Add-Ins if you are not familiar with Add-Ins and how to install them.
