Coming from a war ravaged country with few possessions, I watched and helped my parents build a home and garden from discarded objects. The idea of reclaiming materials to use in another form fascinates me. The skills I have acquired over the years in millinery, soft furnishings and needlework, led me to Box Hill Institute where I studied Studio Stitch Textiles with like-minded people.
My passion has been fueled to create art with colour, texture and a sense of playfulness and humour. To me art does not need to always have deep messages. We tend to live at a frenetic pace in a frightened and angry world; so, if through my art I can bring some laughter or put a smile on someone's face, I will be content.
