Yvette's Trip to Taiwan, June 2000
National Palace Museum

June was my first solo trip to Taiwan, and I had the pleasure of spending two weekends there. Actually 13 days since after 14 you have to get a visa. The first Saturday night there was an earthquake. That Sunday, my one day off, I toured the National Palace Museum. This building has 4 floors with 3 wings each of stuff. Lots of stuff. No pictures were allowed inside, so you just get to see the beauty of the outside.
During one of China's tumultuous times, while the Chinese were running away to Taiwan, they also brought what was left of all the dynasties. In three boatloads. I have been told that there is so much stuff, they change the exhibits every 6 months, and it still takes 16 years to see everything.

The museum.

A little closer view.

The second Sunday of my stay, and as you can see, it is raining (go figure). It was a t-storm actually. At least it wasn't a typhoon, but it seemed as bad. No pictures inside of this building either.
