The image of a grinning tattoo covered skull. That's the best simplification of a Yuuzhan Vong's head. Yuuzhan Vong perform all sorts of religiously based mutilations to themselves. The cover themselves in tattoos, scars, and basically carve their bodies in reverence to their gods. It is a religious culture focused on pain. The three gifts of the Yuuzhan Vong pantheon are Life, Pain, and Death. Cheery bunch huh?
Below are some of the other images I used to help craft my mask, in addition to the ones I've shown previously:
There are particular details that I took notice of when examining all these pictures.
I decided to take these points and make some assumptions about how my Vong mask would come together. First off I didn't want to have to deal with hair. This would be my first time creating a latex mask and I didn't need to complicate the effort by adding an unnecessary detail. I would build up the rear and front of the mask head so that I could hide my nose within the mask. (No need to cut my own face up right?) Everything else, I should be able to replicate without too much trouble.
