Costume Design - Amphistaff
The amphistaff is an extraordinary weapon. Staff, spear, sword, whip, and poison dagger all in one. Not to mention it has the lovely ability to block lightsaber blows. Coupling the amphistaff with the lack of Yuuzhan Vong being able to be sensed in the Force, we begin to see how deadly an enemy they truly are, even to the mighty Jedi. But what is an amphistaff other than a snake? And how in the world can I create something with all those properties?
For the moment I'll just focus on what I hope my staff will look like.
Below is my design for the head and tail of the amphistaff. I decided that I liked the flat almost shovel headed look as seen in the picture above. Adding a sculpted spearhead like tail tip seems to complete the weapon like design.
