| LLink's eyes snapped open. He looked around. Then he remembered. He jumped up drew his sword, and looked up. Far off in the sky, there was a small spark of light. Link knew what to do. He took out his Fairy Slingshot, and loaded it. He took careful aim and fired. The spark was still for another moment, and then moved. The spark, instead of flying away as Link had expected, rapidly flew downwards. A little too late, Link realized the spark was flying straight at him. He tried to leap out of the way, but the spark hit him. Link's head hit the ground with a thud. Then everything went black. Many hours later, just before dawn Link awoke. He sat up, and instinctively looked toward where he had been sleeping. There was a small imprint in the ground. His mind was clouded. Why am I not still sleeping in the same spot? He thought. He continued to stare at the spot. Something was missing...The Fierce Deity's Mask! It was gone! Frantically Link scrambled to his feet and looked around. It was gone. Then a memory came back to Link. He vaguely remembered a spark, a spark of Light. Dark light. Light, that held evil in its midst. The light, it had gone north. North! Towards Hyrule castle! Link quickly got up and ran to where Epona had been. Epona was not there. Link quickly ran out of the grove of trees. Not to far off, he saw Epona, grazing. Link sighed with relief. He ran to Epona. She whinnied with happiness and nuzzled Link. He then mounted Epona, and they galloped north. The drawbridge was down, and parts of the castle were in ruins. Link left Epona grazing, drew his sword, and entered Hyrule Castle Town. People were screaming and buildings were collapsing. A man ran by Link, yelling. Link dove on him. "What's going on?!?!" link screamed at the man. "The M-"the man began to reply. But suddenly an explosion that sounded nearby knocked down a building. The man began yelling again and fled out of the town. Suddenly Link was staring at the face of Sheik. "Princess-What's going on?!?!” Link yelled over the explosions and crashes. "Don't call me that--just call me Sheik." "But why..." "I shall explain everything later," Sheik muttered. An explosion rocked the building above them, and it began to collapse. "Quick! Take my hand!" So, Link grabbed Sheik’s hand and Sheik threw down something Link could not see, and they disappeared with a flash. The building collapsed on the spot they had stood a second before. |
