Orden 27-5-2002, B.O.C. 12-6-2002 The vertical stripe, with its embattled border, makes reference to the Casa de los Coroneles (Colonels' House), the municipality's most representative civil building, also appearing in the coat-of-arms. The black stands for the volcanic soil, while the yellow symbolizes the sand dunes, typical of its seashore, as well as the cereal crop which is the basis of the municipality's economy.

Approved by the Town Council on 25 April 2005 after a popular vote, and by Orden 14-3-2006 (BOC 17-3-2006). The blue stands for the sea, the red for the land and the mountains, and the white for the foam and the purity. The red was first described as ochre, but the Orden indicates instead "Bordeaux red" The two other proposed designs were:
