Frank B. Finite
A "True" Atheist
Sadly, 'tis the season:
As most of you have been forced
to experience, the "holiday season" is amongst us.
It's a time when people get together and party and eat and drink
and generally have a good time all at the expense of us who don't
dally in such nonsense.
You can't escape the forced bombardment
of holiday messages upon your senses no matter where you go or
what you do. They're on TV, radio, in the malls, in the restaurants,
decorations up and down the esplinade, etc. and etc.
Our society has become somewhat
enlightened over the past few decades and pretty much steered
away from the christian message, but I'm afraid there's much
more work to be done in this area.
The one place where you'd think
you could be safe from all of this is at work, but few people
know just how much they are being indoctrinated with "religion"
anyway.
For instance, instead of saying
Merry Christmas, companies have sent out cards adopting the phrase
"Happy Holidays". At first this seems like a good replacement,
but if you get educated you learn that it's not.
You see, the word "holiday"
has its roots in the term "holy day". This is an unacceptable
substitute.
One might think that using "Seasons
Greetings" fixes the problem. I don't think so. When man
invented religion, he did so in worship of natural phenomena
one of the most prominant being the seasons.
And what is exactly the season
they are referring to in "Season's Greetings"? As they
say, "Jesus is the reason for the season." It is the
holiday season which takes us back to the first inadequate replacement
phrase.
No, we have to come up with something
totally new and entirely free of any such religious nonsense
if we are going to one day break free from the shackles of the
religious reich. And I have done just that.
It is an endearing term the both
religious people and non-religious people will relate and cling
to with open arms. It reflects a way of life that people will
actually dig deeper than their hearts in order to get a piece
of.
A unifying term, I see it as
the concept that will not only help us all to get along, but
eventually pound the last nail in the coffin of religion all
together once and for all.
As a part of my legacy which
for some strange reason I feel is important to leave behind after
my organs cease functioning, the light bulb of my conscience
permanently goes dim and the worms devour my body - my brain
leaves to society this gift . . .
Merry
4th Quarter Events
and have a
Happy
New Fiscal Year!
