Introduction
The
goal
of the Local Government Support Program is to assist effective
decentralization
of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines in Regions
6,
9, 10, 11, 12, the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and the newly
created
CARAGA Region.
The
purpose
of the Program is to enhance the capability of local
governments
in the selected regions to carry out planning, programming, and
project
implementation.
VISION
We are a major
capability builder, institutionalizing democratic governance for the
empowerment of communities with innovative,
environmentally and culturally sensitive and gender
responsive programs.
As a dynamic,
committed and responsive team, we attract LGUs and other institutions as
our
strategic partners continually sharing lessons
and mutually assisting each other toward increased
competence and effectiveness.
We aspire to be
a model for excellence, innovation and motivation and a resource of human
expertise and literature on successful local
governance.
For all these,
we seek inspiration and assistance from God to do great things in His service.
MISSION
We commit to TEAMNET
and collaboration with strategic partners to enable Local Government
Units to be responsive, outward-looking,
self-reliant and accountable, for the empowerment and
sustainable development of their communities.
Toward this end, the
LGSP shall continue to provide innovative interventions in key areas of
local
governance to ensure better delivery of services
and improvement of the quality of life of its people.
