GAME 10 HIGHLIGHTS 
Outlaws - Lightning 1 - 2
Kickoff time: 7:30 P.M. at Ed Fountain.
Wheather conditions: Nice.
Lightning for the first time since the season started takes the lead on
the table by
themselves running away by two points from Hat Tricks which today they
tied their game to Fireballs in a well fought match that end up in a draw.
Within
5 minutes from time Fireballs took the lead at 3-2. Hat Tricks fought
back and within 1 minute left had a break through in the center.
A very questionable call by the official save Hat Tricks the lost. The
Hat Trick striker break away and he got tripped by a Fireballs defender
but the ball went to another striker that at the moment he had his shot
the referee blew the whistle not giving the advantage and he scored. The goal
dissallowed, at least for just a few seconds, with the official awardeding a
free kick,
but just before Hat Tricks could kick it he changed his mind and awarded
the call instead, creating controversy and obsiouly a bad decision in both
circumstances. 1. One for not having give the advantage at first when he could
have and 2. by reversing his call and awarding the goal anyway. Two mistakes
costly especially to Fireballs.
Lightning took advantage of the tie of their co-leader and went on to win
2-1 to Outlaws. Lightning had many chances to go ahead earlier but could
not finish and several time Outlaws break through Lightning's defense forcing
Erik to come out far from the penalty box to make some brilliant clearings.
Davey scored on the 23' with a shot from the left.
At 1-0 at half the reds were reminded of several mistakes that happened
during the half and then continued the same rythm in the second. Continuous
attacks were stopped by Outlaws and a shot from Davey went inches from the
post and other from Guy, Tj and Kerry too wick and central for easy saves by
the goal keeper. Within five minutes from time Lightning from a corner kick
by Tj scored the second when Kerry Heads it in. Goalie changed and while all
this happen and Erik was putting his field shirt a mistake by the defense lead
to a kick on goal when Jason entered for Erik had the ball in his hand for
a second and slipped away to go and run for the save but just inches inside
the goal line and the official awarded the goal. That went very fast and so
the continuation of the rest of the game that lasted couple of more minutes.
Lightning now have to focus to the next most important game of the season when they will encounter Hat Tricks on Saturday where they will need just a tie to remain First place and Winner of their Division and to keep intact the record undefeated streak since October 1st and 12 straight.
