88. John⁹ DENT (John⁸, George⁷, Captain John⁶, George⁵, Peter⁴, James³, William², Roger¹) was born in St. Mary's Co., MD CA 1753.⁽⁴⁵⁶⁾ John died 1828 in St. Clairville Township, Belmont, OH, at 74 years of age.⁽⁴⁵⁷⁾

He married Verlinda BEALL in Frederick Co., MD, CA 1776.⁽⁴⁵⁸⁾ Verlinda was born CA 1758.⁽⁴⁵⁹⁾ Verlinda was the daughter of Robert BEALL and Hannah KINSEY. Verlinda died CA 1823 in Belmont Co., OH.⁽⁴⁶⁰⁾

John served in the Revolutionary Army in Montgomery Co., MD.⁽⁴⁶¹⁾ He was a member of the Militia Company of the 29th Batallion.

He took an oath of allegiance in Montgomery Co., MD, 1778.⁽⁴⁶²⁾ John registered to pay taxes 1783.⁽⁴⁶³⁾ The tax list shows that is estate was appraised at Pounds 460, including eleven negro slaves.

He moved 1805 in St. Clairville Township, Belmont, OH.⁽⁴⁶⁴⁾ He made a will in Belmont Co., OH, 12 DEC 1827.⁽⁴⁶⁵⁾ John's will was probated in Belmont Co., OH, 10 MAR 1828.⁽⁴⁶⁶⁾

121 ii. Hannah DENT was born ABT 1780. Hannah died BEF 1 OCT 1827.⁽⁴⁶⁸⁾ She married Andrew FOREMAN in Montgomery Co., MD, 17 AUG 1802.⁽⁴⁶⁹⁾ Andrew was the son of Lewis FOREMAN Sr and Elizabeth Fox SCOTT. Andrew died 1860 at 78 years of age.

122 iii. Rebecca DENT. She married _____ BUDDIE.⁽⁴⁷⁰⁾

123 iv. Lucy DENT.

124 v. Mary DENT. She married Daniel GILL.⁽⁴⁷¹⁾

125 vi. Asa DENT. He married Martha HAYS in Montgomery Co., MD, 20 MAR 1804.⁽⁴⁷²⁾

126 vii. Nancy (Ann) DENT. She married William FOREMAN in Belmont Co., OH, 30 AUG 1810.⁽⁴⁷³⁾ Joined together on thrursday the 30 th August 1810 William Foreman and Ann Dent. Given under my hand.

127 viii. Elizabeth DENT was born 1795. Elizabeth died 1878 at 83 years of age.⁽⁴⁷⁵⁾ She married Thomas FOREMAN in Belmont Co., OH, 2 APR 1812.⁽⁴⁷⁶⁾ Married by Vachel Hall. Thomas is the son of Lewis FOREMAN Sr and Elizabeth Fox SCOTT.
